Note: All Athena stuff needs to be spoilertagged; the manga's scanlations are only up to Chapter 153. (of continuous scans, at least)
Ah, I haven't gotten that far yet in the manga, so thanks for informing me.
It's awesome?
It's one of those long-running comedy series that manages to be both hilariously funny in a Gag Series way and then turn around and be genuinely emotional at times. School Rumble is another good example, although hopefully Hayate will have a better ending.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI really need to catch up on the manga, and from the episode previews, they're going to pull off a Last Episode, New Character.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a third season, really.
EDIT: Who's your favorite characters btw.?

"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntFavorite characters in general would be, in no particular order:
- Hina
- Ayumu
- Maria
- Hayate
- Wataru
- Sakuya
- Isumi
- Those Three Girls Izumi, Miki and Risa
How can you not like any of the significant characters anyway? They're all pretty funny if you ask me.
In terms of Shipping, I have a thing for Hayate/Maria, Wataru/Saki and Hina/Ayumu/Hayate.
But that's just me.

Heh, I ship Wataru/Sakuya they're so adorable :p
I think I like Ayumu the most actually. She's good people.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntWataru and Sakuya would actually make a very decent manzai pair, with Isumi and Saki being the triggers for our boke Wataru.
I... have a thing for Ayumu as well. (No not like that) She's one of the more normal people on the show, and she adds her own "normal" flavor in a show where you've got rich people, talking tigers, superpowered butlers, maids, an exorcist, and a Student Council President armed with a wooden Masamune.
Also, there's that perverted priest Linn. The fact that he's voiced by Junichi Suwabe and that he invokes a parody of Fate Stay Night using Hayate makes him awesome too. That, and playing Isumi's Dojikko moment over and over again.
I think the point about Ayumu is that she's in a very real way like Hayate, personality-wise. She's good to most people and she's earnest and stubborn. The only difference is that she's that way in a "normal" (well, for anime values of "normal") way, while Hayate takes it Beyond the Impossible.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntThis show's pretty much as balanced as it can get for a parody series: a third of the fun is the character archetypes, a third are the parodies, and the final third is that it actually has a decent plot, if Hinagiku's and especially Hayate's backstory *cough*Athens*cough* are any indication.
I never continued to watch this, too many episodes and it didn't really draw me in after the first couple episodes.
However, Maria is teh sex.

After watching episode 24...
Dude. Is it just me or is Nishizawa the most mature person in the entire show?
Considering what that says about the other characters that is downright frightening.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI personally believe Ayumu is mature underneath everything that she appears to be to the other characters in the show. I'd agree with you on that.
Hina is mature in everything else except romance.

I've seen the final episode, and I was kinda disappointed that we didn't get to see Athena's face during the ending credits.
Thoughts:
This is definitely a Sequel Hook, what with the new semester beginning as the second season ends and the ongoing manga. I daresay they'll give the manga a head start before a third season begins... I hope, since the 2nd season aired 2 years after the first, and I honestly don't want to wait much longer for something as awesome as this.
I rewatched the entirety of season two and just noticed something (forgive me because I dropped the manga sometime ago):
Why does Aika have the same kind of stone that Mikado gave to Hayate?
My FF.net accountI remember someone giving it too her. I don't remember who, and hunting through that many chapeters on Onemanga is not excatly appealing.

Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listWataru has one too right?
My FF.net accountSo, now that the manga translation has caught up, I'm going to resurrect this.
I have to say, I really hope that Athena doesn't just get get put on a bus like it looks like she's going to. To much work has been put into her.
I don't think anyone is in danger of being truly Put on a Bus. I mean, barring Sakuya's butlers and I think Makimura-sensei, I think every significant named side character was involved in this last arc in some way. The series tends to be very loving to the entire ensemble.
I mean, even Gilbert got brought back from wherever he was.

Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listAgreed. I'm thinking that Athena will interact fairly regularly with the main cast from here on, being at around Nishizawa's and Hinagiku's level. It might be slightly weird for them (as well as the readers) at first, but Hata will make it happen. Looking forward to interaction between her and Nagi.
Sees the sun going down, and the eyes in his headDefinitely. The interaction has to happen; Nagi freaking broke the stone that Hayate had to save Athena; said stone is proof of her inheritance from Mikado which she has now lost.
My FF.net accountHmmm, I've been considering starting to read the Hayate manga. But I'm not sure if I can be arsed to start from the beginning...
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI highly recommend picking it up where season 2 of the anime ended.
My FF.net account
We don't have a thread for this, so I decided to make one. Discussion is open for all forms of and about this series, be it Anime or Manga. Don't forget to spoiler things!
So I'll start off with addressing Episode 24 of the second season. Nishizawa and Hina are now Love Rivals, and it's the first reference to Hayate's missing older brother in the anime.
Since this seems to be the second to the last episode of the second season, there's no way it'll catch up to the manga (so much for my hopes that an older A-tan/Athena would sound like Saber.)
I can't believe it's almost going to end. Nooooooo! *goes back to reading the manga where she left off, i.e. end of the anime's season 2*
