Zeref stated he doesnt talk to humans cause they're bugs to him.Dragons are probably a bit higher on the scale.

I don't think he views dragons any better than he does humans; it's just that Igneel has peaked his interest.

It doesn't even seem like he knows who Igneel is, and considering he's the king of all fire dragons, that should tell you that Acnologia is kind of out of the lope with his brethren.

I still want to know why he started hating humans, dragons are easy enough to understand, but not humans. Unless he just always had total disregard for everyone around him, which given his backstory is in entirely possible.

Edit: And yeah, it was established as soon as Acnologia appeared that he could both understand what they were saying and could respond, he just chose not to because he considered them no better than insects.

Doesn't make much sense seeing it was largely due to his own behavior. Nobody told him to bathe in the blood of all the dragons he killed.

Zeref was involved somehow to but I find it hard to believe it wasn't consensual. If it wasn't, that might explain his vendetta against Zeref, though.

At first it seemed like it was Lucy, but focus shifted off of her to Natsu pretty early on. She's still probably the second most prominent character as a whole though, third if you put Erza ahead of her.

Actually, I'd say Lucy is the protagonist, with Natsu as The Hero.

We see it all from her eyes, technically speaking. That's something I appreciate a lot, really. FT actually is the most progressive of the big four, I would even say.

the GMG part of her novel must be awkward though.

Oh, that's right. Lucy's writing a novel about Fairy Tail.

So she probably omitted herself entirely from the story.

What is Lucy doing anyway? I remember she has Aquarius' power now, and that's it. Is she fighting someone?

She's exhausted now, actually. Last we saw, she was on the floor, bruised as all-hell, looking at Natsu when Igneel materialized outta his body.

Since then, she's been literally blown away by the air generated from the dragon fighting. Nearly everybody else is suffering through that as well.

dunno if thats a bad thing.self inserts can work badly,and she's a beginner at writing.would be a smart move.

It's implied her story is about Natsu.

She may or may not have herself in it, but it is pretty clear she's writing about her misadventures with Fairy Tail. I dunno why, but I suspect... there'll be a ton of Female Gaze in her novel to compensate for the Male Gaze she has to deal with :P

i think it might be a Fairy in Lumen Histoire.

I still like Fairy Tail. I like talking about the characters more than the plot or fights, though.

So I have to ask, is Erza, like, secretly insane?

probably leftovers from the slave life.growing up in the guild probably didn't help.

Like, she wanted to head to a candy store. So she went to... the bar.

When the candy store was next to the bar. And only noticed when the bartender said "It's right next to us."

That's why I like Erza. She acts sane, but is actually just as crazy as anyone else in FT, if not more so. Also she's sexy, but that's expected from Lucy's friends :P

Erza used to be one of my favorite characters. Now she is just a mouthpiece for friendship.

I used to think Natsu was sorta cool...those were the days. It doesn't help fire is one of favorite elements.

At least Gray is still a good character.

There ARE higher standards. And what we're saying is that this manga doesn't reach them.

@Aqua: One problem with that, Gray doesn't really do much.

The real heart where characters are concerned are those such as Levy or Gajeel or the three Exceeds or "insert character who has big arc here".

HAH.Levy doing stuff.

Gray doesn't do much, but it just makes it that much more effective when he does.
