Weird to think that, despite Dora's personal life being a mess a lot of the time, she actually has her shit together more than almost anybody else in terms of career. Also, is this another of those "northern people vs southern people" thing based on their state of dress?

Nah, it's probably simply because Faye just entered the shop from the outside and didn't take off her coat.

Dora is probably warm from being indoors and moving around.

In general, Dora is a succesful enterpreneur, even if her personal life can get messy at times.

Weird. I didn't know that renters (particularly non-living renters) ran credit checks. I thought only loan agencies and some apartment complexes did that?

It's prudent for anyone who takes payment in a form that might be defaulted on to run a credit check first.

I'm not an economics person, but I imagine getting paid under the table like they where probably didn't show up on their tax forms huh?

As I recall from a recent John Oliver rant, the US tax code actually specifically obliges you to declare bribes and illegal payments. (Though you can't claim tax deductions on illegal activity.) So technically, this stuff should be on their tax returns. But it probably isn't, of course.

Well, that's so if they can't get you for the illegal stuff they can get you for tax evasion.

Hmm...how long was Faye working for Corpse Witch? If it was for less than a year wouldn't she just say she was unemployed? Also, Faye seems like the type to pay back student loan payments and she had only had what a year and a half back in the state college she attended right? Plus, I think her mom paid for the hospital visit and surgery for the car crash right? If all that is true I wonder why she has bad credit unless she doesn't have any.

I can't get credit because every time I apply for credit they say "hm.... well nobody else has trusted you before, so we won't either".

I've gotten turned down for a secured credit card for people with no credit history, which should not be possible.

That's what friends are for - putting themselves on the hook for you even when they have solid empirical evidence you're a fuckup
