It's early to tell, but she may be going down Bratty Teenage Daughter lane.
Also, when you said there was some Jim, I was thinking Jimbo. Especially since you said his name was Jim Bean.

Jim Beam is. I figured the last name was a way of bringing that in without being 100% explicit.

I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Like I said, it's early. And even if her point is reasonable, her tone is definitely brattier than I expect from Sam. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her.

Especially when she's a former BDSM model. I don't know whether Sam knows that, but she's got the Internet.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...... Phrasing.
What's precedent ever done for us?.....*rereads Thatch's post*
....Que?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Is there an issue?
Presumably about the implication of Sam being... under the dominion, shall we say, of Martin's mom.

OH.
.......that's......that's wrong, isn't it?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Well, it would be — but I feel it requires a determinedly perverse reading to get there.
= Spindriver =VERY perverse. Picturing an underage girl in leather = DAT AIN'T RIGHT.

Unfortunately, Sam does have R34.
Fresh-eyed movie blogHey, I'm pretty sure *I* have Rule 34.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117I don't want to think about Sam having Rule34.
Come to think of it, after seeing how Ms. Reed has wielded parental authority over Marten, Sam has sound reason to be concerned. See strip 1835. There's wholesome discipline and there's spirit-crushing.
That could be kinda interesting. Marten's always been a little spineless throughout the comic, Sam doesn't have that problem. Wonder how Mrs. Reed would deal with a child that point-blank refuses to knuckle under......
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117But this doesn't look set to become a plot point. Mrs Reed is currently recognising Sam's concerns and making sensible efforts to reassure her. She's making a conscious effort not to fall into the wicked stepmother role.
Unless this is all a bwah-hah-hah evil plot, and she's going to turn nasty once she gets established in the house, she's not assuming power over Sam. And even if she did consciously get into the habit of crushing Marten's spirit a bit, that would be a fairly pointless exercise here. Sam is a maturing teenage girl with a fairly well-defined if slightly wacky personality; trying to crush her would just turn into a war of attrition, with no guarantee of victory.
= Spindriver =I don't see that as soul crushing just an example of Marten's inherent spinelessness at the time.
And I don't any potential abusiveness in her attitude towards Sam either. I think people are over reacting to her being a dom.
