[up] So the Ninja Maid Philippine also harbors a love for karaoke, that she treats as Serious Business?

That sounds like a terrific one off episode right there. The Pacific nations of Hetalia have a night out at karaoke! America sings off key! Philly-chan lights into him! America laughs it off! Japan is tricked into singing "Let's Hear It For The Boy!"

[up] Even America can't laugh it off when she gets serious about karaoke, as she beats him in boxing.

PS one 'l' in Philippines, please.

[up] That's it! Afterwards we see America going through a training montage in the Philippines while singing "Eye of the Tiger" (Off key).

Philippine decides that beating America at boxing is not worth it when you have to listen to that song over and over and over.

Luckily America was not holding anyone as PO Ws, otherwise he would've violated the Geneva Convention evil grin

So we add Boisterous Bruiser to her trope-list....

It was a horror that the Philippines is being kept out by the Fan Dumb more than Himaruya himself.

Overzealous folks getting up in arms over perceived insult, I assume?

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

Personally, I think there might be three Philippines characters, representing the originally fractured state of the archipelago: Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao. Seriously, even today, Misplaced Regionalism abounds here... and this may be a holdover from our history. Spain took advantage of our dividedness and used it to crush revolts that sprang up wherever. (province in Luzon rebelling? Send in the native reinforcements from the Visayas!) Plus points for Mindanao proving a pain in the ass to Spain and America.

Hey, maybe there'll only be one Philippines, but s/he'll have split personalities based on those groups?

Yeah maybe... but i was basing the "three Philippines" idea off the canon split nations (N. and S. Italy, Germany and Prussia). It would make sense for Himaruya-sensei to follow the trend, da?

I'm part Filipino myself and I personally would love for The Philippines to have a personification grin. I used to think that it would be a really Hot-Blooded Genki Girl with a pet eagle. But recently, after seeing quite a few Filipino guys on the internet I've noticed a pattern.

A lot of homosexual Yaoi Fanboys seem to come from The Philippines.

So, my new idea is that he'd be a nice but tough and Hot-Blooded Bishōnen boy with an affinity for yaoi and bara (which he buys off of Japan when no one's looking). He still has a pet eagle and likes mangoes and Jollibee, though.

Reading through this posts, I think I've gotten my own idea. I'm a Filipino too, though I have Spanish heritage, I believe the Philippines as a Tom-Boyish girl can be true, but seeing the age of our country? I think by the time Spain finds us, we've already made it to our early teens. Since we are technical childhood friends with China and Japan.

And going over America? I don't think we'd see him a an older brother, more like a close friend of sorts. Sure. We tend to depend on him sometimes, but we still pride ourself of our country. And answering more about it, I think Philippines would be a jack-of-all trades master-of-none kind of person, seeing as we tend to have an array of OF Ws with differing occupations.

And as for our country itself? I think each of our provinces would be our siblings. So not exactly Luzon, visayas, or Mindanao. But, each one of our provinces instead.

And if you're questioning about why wouldn't Spain be able to see that the Philippines was a girl the whole time? A.) Philippines are very Tom-boyish. B.) Most Filipino women have... Smaller breasts. C.) Did Spain ever bother to check our gender?
