It's a shame too because in the original M.U. is one of my favorite songs. Im interested in how they'll redo Giga Magma.

Specifically, whether they keep the chiptune intro or just go straight into the low-bass stuff.

FWIW, I didn't like the orchestrated M.U. either; I prefer chiptune M.U..

Still no news yet, though a little birdie told me that the debugging of the Wii Ware version is stuck in Development Hell.

Regardless, SupraDarky of Youtube fame just put La-Mulana on his famous list! Rejoice!

Oh wow, they were able to keep Baphomet in.

I wonder if they changed up that boss so it's not so easy to beat this time.

[up]Were you thinking that they wouldn't keep Baphomet in for some reason?

Man, the bosses look awesome. It looks like Bahamut's arena has switched perspectives, which I think is neat.

Loving how these are looking now.

As for "not being able to keep Baphomet in" being a worry, it along with some of the fertility themes in the game were worry-points because Nintendo of America.

Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.

The ghost girls in confusion gate also almost got ruined, but the fans cared too much about that part to let them touch it.

Re: Baphomet - There's also the whole "used as a figure for Satanism" thing. People can get kinda pushy about that.

Eh, Shin Megami Tensei does this sort of thing all the time. The trick is for the game to be so obscure that the Cable News never notices.

Anywho, I'm glad they updated, I was getting kinda worried.

You kinda have to wonder how they managed to fit the game into 40 megabytes. Then again, if Jett Rocket can be a 3D platformer for 40 MB...

They include an MIDI-instrument definitions set with the thing, so they don't just use looping WA Vs or OG Gs.

Another blog update.

Apparently the earthquake has not affected the release of La-Mulana.

I was starting to get a bit worried.

MOTHER FRAGLARAH!!!!!!! just bugs me (We really need more angrier smilies)

anyways. Backside area 4 spoiler So I was doing the Tower of the Goddess, and I managed to find my way into the room with the scales, thus making progress in this game for the first time in a few months. Walls lock up behind me, and I dick around with the weights for a bit, before warping out. Saving, and turning off the game to try to figure out the puzzle (it's the one where you have to balance the weights) I figure out the answer and return to the room...to find that it's permanently sealed. That room apparently has the Mace, the strongest version of the whip in the game. Plus I apparently didn't realize that Lemaza himself is also supposed to be a weight. I feel like I now know the true horror that is La Mulana sad

Yeah, that one's a stupid Lost Forever.

Good thing is though that you don't have to have it to beat the game.

That said, you should have just cheated at that using Deceased Crab's video walkthrough.

[up][up]Well I wanted to play the game without relying on the videos of annoying things that only belong on my dinner plate, so odd as it may sound, I prefer getting screwed over like this to having been spoiled on what to do. Besides, if I beat the game with only the weapon I have, it makes me that much manlier, and I can always use some manly points.

in other news, I'm glad that the nigoro team made it through the earthquakes ok. Still ready to play this on my wii.

It's about damn time. I was actually getting pretty worried about this not coming out, but I'm glad we're getting it in the end. Definetly can't wait to crack my teeth in this one, especially since once again stuck in the original.
