Honestly, it's probably time to get used to Classic being the only series to get new content (aside from the cartoon next year.)

X really has nowhere left to go, Battle Network and Star Force are finished, Legends is dead in the water, Zero concluded, and hardly anyone gave a damn about ZX.

I agree with you that the other series are pretty much mostly done, but it's still really off-putting mostly because Classic comes with a lot of other baggage that's not super appealing.

If anything I want a new subseries that's a bit more like X or Zero in terms of tone and visual style, at least.

I think ZX:A proves that a sub-series based around Axl and his abilities could work while also potentially salvaging the character's reputation.

Good news for any Mega Man Star Force fans going to New York Comic Con 2017!

Mega Man Geo is getting a red variant 4-Inch-Nel (ultra-possible 4 inch action figure from SEN-TI-NEL), exclusive to NYCC!

Honestly, I much preferred the Metroidvania-esque nature of the original to ZXA. That being said, I'd love to see a third ZX game that wraps up that series and fully ties it into Legends.

Of course, I've completely given up hope of ever seeing a new Mega Man game that I want to play again so yeah.

I was more talking about how the transformation mechanic was pretty fun and that it could support more games.

So the 30th anniversary livestream came and went.

And apparently, there was no big announcement on anything.

I would imagine you guys are steaming and foaming at the mouth in rage (I know Twitter is), but maybe some of you guys saw it coming a mile away and decided to go to bed that night.

To those who decided to call it a night beforehand (like I did): good call.

To those who decided to power through and watch the livestream: you have my deepest sympathies.

In lighter news, there's more Mega Man-related NYCC exclusives for anyone who's still going there, but...whatever.

I just realized that there's a period in the thread title and now it's kinda bugging me a bit.

I didn't expect or hope for anything after MN 9.

What did they actually discuss in the livestream? Did they just talk about Mega Man in general?

I'm not surprised. I wasn't expecting anything. Its just a dormant property at this point.

does anyone think it would make more narrative sense for zero to have had his x body in the zero series? i just dont buy his body being outdated when the strongest reploids in neo arcadia use the exact same body type right down to the armor

Well, no. Zero's body is explicitly not his original because Omega is his original body. That said, it only looks different because the Zero series has a different art style. Omega looks just like Zero even though he is explicitly in Zero's original body.

I do agree that they need to diversify the armor of the Zero series. Fefnir is the only person with a different armor.

I still think that they should gave Omega the X-era body as a Continuity Nod.

If there were a "Megaman title in the vein of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 where Wily came back with some of his top classic designs, which Robot Masters would he choose? What 8 bosses would appear?

I've been using these for inspiration, but I figured asking fans directly might produce more creative results.

Guts Man, for certain. Air Man. Magnet Man. Top Man. Those are my most memorable. They're all from the first three games 'cause bosses after that were kinda lame. Maybe Gravity Man or Bright Man.
