In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

A lot of nations have been backing out of hosting the Olympics because the cost of everything involved with the event just isn't worth it.
It's because the Olympics aren't nearly as big of a deal as they were a few decades ago.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYou wouldn't know it from the way the IOC zealously guards its brand to keep it pure and untarnished and thus more valuable to sell to major advertisers around the world.
Fresh-eyed movie blogSo the Fantasy Mecha Visual Novel I'm working on?
One of the voice-actors is Belldandy. I haven't watched Oh My Goddess myself, but I do know it's fairly popular.

So tonic water indeed glows under blacklight.

Don't understand lyrics? No worry. Just enjoy the music and the video.
Yeah, that translates "the Groke". It's taken the inspiration from that.

Never know why I buy Pepsi from gas stations, when I could just get it free at work.

So, watching A Fairly Odd Summer online after my cable provider turned off all the Viacom channels.
The live action movies are even campier than the cartoon, and you have to really think like a kid to get the most enjoyment out of them.
But the ending! Timmy falls into a pit of lava with the Abracadabrium and pops out as a FAIRY GODPARENT who looks and sounds like his ten-year-old self (though he's even cuter than his cartoon version). Also Cosmo, Wanda and Poof are reassigned to two lonely rich kids and Vicky is turned into their bunny.
Guess that means they're done with Drake Bell though.

"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von Lewis-high five with a handful of cake—
Happy birthday, Keybreak!
Also, I feel accomplished because I finally finished 1) the replacement bag for my comb, and 2) the messenger bag that's been sitting almost-finished in a box for weeks.
Sewing is very relaxing. I'm glad I took up embroidery.
Ohmygodohmygodohmygod, something's going right for me! I'm so excited, but also terrified. Please don't let it all go horribly wrong, pleasepleasepleaseplease.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Went for a nap yesterday evening, woke up in the morning. Apparently my body needed more sleep than I thought.
I'm just curious, but is Ronnie Corbett's accent (as I suspect) an Edinburgh accent?
Keep Rolling OnMore or less.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'My friends called up. Whoa, again going to pizza and Subway on the same meeting, I guess. I was hungry anyway.
Home alone this week. Cleaned up the place as usual...and then I guess I worked up sort of a cleaning fever as I started cleaning/sorting everything in sight. Discarding all the little crap you have lying around the house is surprisingly satisfying.
Doot dee doot doot.
Bo-o-red.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Today went to an audition for a student film that was roughly 15 minutes long and was casting three guys. It's about a bunch of mob errand boys, and the role I auditioned for was a guy who was trying to quit the organization. It was a cold reading, and went on for like 15~20 minutes, and they had me read about 5 scenes with my character. They said that they will give me a call in about a couple of days.
Honestly, I think I pulled it off well, and although it was casting three guys only two guys including me showed up, and I even showed my interest and knowledge in filming and writing. I have a good feeling about this. It might just be my first acting role. Obviously I'm not getting paid or anything (I mean, come on), but hey, this might just be a start of a career that I never thought about before (and yes, I know that being a successful actor is like winning a lottery, but hey).
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.A gush from childhood:
Got the (better-than) new versions of The Professionals today...
Keep Rolling OnI helped a friend edit a paper today. It made me feel like Spider-Man using his power for good for the first time, since I've been told I'm a good writer but all I normally do is goof off writing fanfics.

Looking for some stories?
@Lemurian: Well, the Olympics are an awfully expensive event to host. I blame it on all those wacky opening ceremonies.
