You sure? Last I checked, he's only confirmed as MIA, and only possibly KIA. If he's indeed dead, than the very important question is how he was killed, because none of the demons that managed to break through the barrier between the two worlds in the 2000 years since he "sealed" the bulk of his power into Force Edge has managed that feat (really, you think those 2 millennia never saw any limited demonic incursions? Or that Mundus or other demonic lords wouldn't have sent countless assassination attempts against the one who betrayed them all for humanity?).

Well, if he did die, a contributing factor to that would almost certainly be his sealing away most of his own power when he dealt with the demon world originally because he thought he was too powerful (at least, that's what happened according to DMC3).

I think the implication is Sparda is indeed dead before Eva... since I doubt any attempt of his wife and children would go over without Sparda going on a Roaring Rampage.

I mean unless Sparda has pulled a Disappeared Dad to Parts Unknown

everybody talks as though Sparda is dead or refers to him as such.

Well, for all the non-canonicity of DMC2 among the fandom, one of the few things I liked about it is Dante implying that his dad is indeed alive, just that he's been preoccupied with some vaguely major thing (sealing another demonic Eldritch Abomination, perhaps?) since before the attack that took Eva's life.

As for doing an older Patty, why not make her heritage a plot point, and as to where the hypothetical DMC 5 should take place in the timeline, why not have it replace DMC 2 in the timeline? Also, how is she a Scrappy?

@Alucard: I was referring to Sienna, who stated in the post above mine that there was nothing to suggest Vergil would have Force Edge or Beowulf in DMC 4:SE.

This looks glorious. And Vergil spinning a Summoned Sword around 3:33 made me snicker.

You mean Concentration?

Oh, is that what that is? I wondered, since he does have a Style mechanic.

According to the information, the Concentration meter is something that fills up when you don't get hit, get style up, and don't run towards enemies, among other conditions. Doing so increases Vergil's attack power as well as giving him new moves at higher levels.

You also get it by walking towards the enemy.

Só... I started up the game.

The guy in the startup screen saying the title in a tone a lá Resident Evil 4 made me go "huh?"

Also, the "pick your saving slot" screen hás a picture of the protagonist surrounded by female angels as he makes a gun gesture to one Angel that is on a position that looks uncomfortable as if she is giving him a blowjob.

This does not bode well.

Okay... I went to "training" and played around for a bit, the combat seems okay só far só at least there is that.

Moving on into "new game"...

Opening Credits with the flashing lights strippers and Protagonist sexing two women were.... Weird.

Okay, so the scène where the protagonist wakes up and talks to his visitor was okay... Up until it reached the scène where the monster attacked and the protagonist had to get dressed, complete with câmera Angles making a pizza cover him up at one point, and I realized that he had just flashed someone who was trying to Savé his life as well as the monsters outside.

Okay, the heck was up with Ebony and Ivory being tied to a woman's bra? Also, the fuck was up with the " Gluttony is good" message?

And I havê to say... The Limbo is só ugly to look at, I mean by Ammy's fur.

Got into the doll house, I admit I like how they tried to make it unsettling in it's own way. It's still rather unpleasing to look at though.

You know what? I already hate this guy.

Okay, só I beat The Hunter. There was a scary moment where he killed me and I thought I would havê to start The fight all over again but then The game asked me if I wanted to use a Golden Orb and I did, after that I beat him.

Okay, impressions só far.

Pros.

• The combat is decent.
• The boss battle was genuinely fun.
• The detail where if you looked directly to certain places a message would appear is surprisingly clever.

Cons.

• The scenery and environments are atrocious.
• The "mood" of the whole thing is rather annoyingly "dark".
• The protagonist is a douche.

At first, I was like "What in the bloody hell are you playing?" and then I was like "Oh, that game."

I think it actually has a separate thread.
