Yeah, Nito's a bit OP. He was actually one of the hardest to come up with, since the biggest piece of lore about him is the whole "death and miasma" thing he used (which translates to standard black Mutilate effects), but in his actual fight the only thing really unique about him is his regenerating skeletons.

Hm... How about this:

Gravelord Nito (XXBG)
Legendary Creature - Skeleton Cleric
When ~ enters the battlefield, creatures your opponents control get -X/-X until end of turn. Then, put X 2/2 black Skeleton creature tokens with "(0): Regenerate this creature" on the battlefield.

That's really Nito, man.

Undyne, Spear of Justice 2W(U/R)
Legendary Creature - Fish Knight
First Strike, Vigilance, Prowess
If Undyne has no +1/+1 counters and is dealt damage by a black creature, when she dies this turn, return Undyne to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters.
The heroine that NEVER gives up.

[up]I almost think it should be a transform card instead.

The set could have transform cards where one side has a monster symbol and the other side has a "DETERMINATION" symbol, perhaps.

Something Wicked This Way Comes
Sorcery
Color Indicator: Black and Red
(Spells without mana costs can't be cast))
Search your library for a black or red creature card and put it onto the battlefield. It gains haste. Sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step. Exile ~ with four time counters on it.
Suspend 4 - {B}{R}
Whenever a time counter is removed from ~ while it is suspended, each player loses 1 life.
By the pricking of their thumbs...

Duodecahedraphere - 12
Legendary Artifact
When ~ enters the battlefield, if you didn't cast it from your hand, you lose 144 life.
All spells cost {12} to cast instead of their normal mana costs.
Designed to repress entire empires, but used to annoy mages for a chuckle.

Baneling - 1BG

Zerg Creature - Baneling

When Baneling deals combat damage sacrifice it and deal damage equal to its power to all attacking or blocking creatures you do not control.

Brainling (1UB)
Creature - Horror

Sacrifice ~: Gain control of target creature. You lose life equal to its power plus its toughness.

TheSpaceJawa Since: Jun, 2013

[up][up] Doesn't seem quite explosive enough for a Baneling. Like it either needs to deal damage equal to twice its power or be a 3/1 rather than a 1/1 or something else to really give it that extra 'pop'.

  • Demise Mind 2UUBB
  • Enchantment
  • While you control ~, instead of paying Mana to cast spells, exile another copy of the card you are casting from your library or hand.

I could also see the Baneling also having the subtype Zerglilng (or even Zerg Zergling) to go with vanilla Zerglings, Swarmlings and Raptors.

StephanReiken Since: May, 2010

@Space: But with Flash and Haste to make the card cost effective I couldn't give it too much power. Plus its sacrificed after dealing combat damage. Just give it a giant growth and it deals 8 damage to one attacker and 4 to the rest.

Ultralisk - 2GGB

Zerg Creature - Ultralisk

Massive (Whenever this creature attacks all creatures assigned to block also block Ultralisk and whenever this creature is assigned to block it blocks all attacking creatures)

When Ultralisk deals combat damage to a creature it deals two additional damage instead.

5/5

Torrasque - 2GGBB

Zerg Creature - Ultralisk

Massive (Whenever this creature attacks all creatures assigned to block also block Torrasque and whenever this creature is assigned to block it blocks all attacking creatures)

When Torrasque deals combat damage to a creature it deals two additional damage instead.

If Torrasque is destroyed regenerate it. This ability cannot be triggered again until the beginning of your next upkeep.

5/5

Evolution Pit - 1G

Zerg Creature - Building

Defender, During opponents' turns after blockers are assigned this creature blocks all unblocked attacking creatures.

GG: Put a charge counter on Evolution Pit. You may activate this ability only when you could play a sorcery and only twice per turn.

Remove three counters: Gain one of the following Emblems with 'You can have up to three of this Emblem.'

All non-building Zerg Creatures without Flying or Reach gain +1/+0

All non-building Zerg Creatures without Flying that have Reach gain +1/+0

All Zerg Creatures without Flying gain 'This creature takes X less damage from all sources where X is equal to the number of copies of this Emblem you have'

0/3

[up] Flash and Haste don't feel entirely like they belong.

[up] That would be where Flash comes in, yes.

I mean, sorry, "your base" as in "your enemy's Zerg monstrosity appears in the middle of your mineral line, already attacking." It's the two uses of burrow.

TheSpaceJawa Since: Jun, 2013

[up] It may ultimately be better to represent Zerg burrowing through another card of some kind that grants Flash and Haste to other Zerg.

Heart of the Cards - 4UU

Sorcery

Gain the following emblem.

True Card Player

Every time you draw a card put a charge counter on this emblem.

Remove 3 charge counters: The next time you would draw a card, instead Scry X where X is equal to the size of your library, then Draw a Card, then Shuffle your Library.

[up] It would be far less convoluted if you simply removed three charge counters to search your deck for a card and put it into your hand.

And, given that this is blue (the card draw color), probably far less BS if you removed charge counters to search for a card and put it on top of your library.
