Yeah, seems to be a subtrope of Status Quo Is God in specific reference to game shows. Tropable I guess, but the name is definitely too general. Status Quo Game Show?

Failure Is the Only Option is specifically in reference to a goal for a character failing to be met because otherwise the series would end. You Can't Win isn't an example unless winning the game show would end the series somehow.

Seeing as no one has posted here since November, I am assuming that this topic has been resolved. Can someone please close it?

Strangely enough, I correctly managed to associate You Can't Win as a trope involving game shows before I read the page...

...but I thought it would have something to do with game shows that are effectively impossible to ever win, naturally would be related Deadly Game.

I apologize for missing this earlier, but there is now a single proposition rename crowner for this trope here.

Given the amount of misuse for such a rarely used trope, a title that I think invites misuse because it is related to more than just game shows, and a phrase used as a trope name that people probably can shoehorn into a lot of different pages, I think this deserves a rename.

Doesn't seem concise enough to me. Status Quo Always Wins is shorter, but risks confusion with Status Quo Is God.

Well, if it's limited to game shows, it should state that in the title. Well, that and it makes for a Sublime Rhyme.

It seems exactly concise enough for me, given what a specific trope it is. (Almost too specific, but not quite enough for me to complain.)

Since there is consensus to rename, I've gone ahead and created an alt titles crowner here.
