I would've loved to see what he thought of the 16-bit Hook adaptations... but then again, he probably considered them good enough to not review.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987"Spielberg Games"? Really? I'd have made separate "Jaws" and "Jurassic Park" videos. As for "Hook", who knows, make it a DVD bonus.
mudshark: I don't expect Nate to make sense, really. The Jaws game didn't seem to provide enough material for its own video, really.
I guess Jurassic Park could've been its own video, since there are so many of them, but...I imagine a standalone Jurassic Park video would've been pretty much like this one, just without the Jaws and Hook parts.
Heapers’ HangoutThere is a really shitty Jurassic Park game for the PS1 which I own.
In order to play as the fun dinosaurs, or even as a human, you have to play the Compsognathus levels. One of them requires you to run through a herd of stampeeding dinosaurs, avoiding being squashed by their legs. Why the Compsognathus must do this, I have no idea. I guess some other dinosaur dared it to.
That would be their adaptation of The Lost World. You had 4 characters: the Compy, the Human, the Raptor, and the T-Rex.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Playing the T-Rex sucked. You'd slowly walk along the path for a few seconds, and then a bunch of tiny dinos jumped on you and started biting, and shaking them off was a pain. And then repeat until you slowly bleed to death.
There was also the ambitious Jurassic Park: Trespasser. It had good ideas but botched execution. It had HUD-free gameplay, but your health was represented by a heart tattoo on the character's breast.
^^^ Well yeah, it was supposedly based on The Lost World, but it had nothing to do with the plot for that movie. I mean, I guess it says it takes place on Island Of Death #2, but it's not like that affects the game in any way.
Heh, Super Schindler's List 3D.
"I've come to the conclusion that this is a very stupid idea."I actually fell for that one. Considering all the crazy shit the Nerd digs up, it almost seemed plausible for a bit.
I'll give my soul to anyone who makes Super Schindler's List 3D.
Where is it written that all AVGN videos must be of the same length?
I can understand lumping all Indiana Jones games together, or all Star Trek games, or all Batman games, but lumping Jaws, Jurassic Park, and Hook into one video under the flimsy heading of "Spielberg" seems odd.
mudshark: I don't expect Nate to make sense, really.I don't know, I'd be disappointed if my one AVGN video for the month was a very short review of a single Jaws game.
Also I think the "Spielberg" angle was mainly to set up the ET teaser.
Heapers’ HangoutI still want to know what James Rolfe thinks of the 2003 TMNT series.

Well, considering he's collecting it on DVD, I doubt he hates it.
He also gave the spin-off movie a positive review.
So the Nerd seems to be way behind on his update. Why? Well, if you go to the Cinemassacre site you can see that they're working on making a feature-length AVGN movie. Apparenty it will feature the dreaded E.T. game.
True, but this is the first time the schedule has been seriously affected by it. ie, it's the reason there isn't an episode for May.
No, that was mentioned even a bit before the 100th episode
He's been making fewer episodes for more than half a year due to the movie.
Update about the movie and show: http://cinemassacre.com/2011/06/01/avgn-message/
He says he will be making new episodes during production, but they'll be stripped down. Kind of like his early episodes from 2006. I don't mind that, those episodes are still fun and with 5 years of experience I can imagine these will be good too.
Ever wonder how an AVGN episode is made? http://www.gametrailers.com/video/the-making-screwattack/717056
I'm good with that. I like the parts of his reviews where he reviews the game better than the bizarre interludes (which are fun in their own way)
They assed first. I am only retaliating in an ass way. -The Dead Man's LifeUgh, I can not watch the video as it keeps crapping out and crashing.
This is getting ridiculous, I tried watching it on another computer, and it ended the video about five minutes in! God, I hate Gametrailers!

I enjoyed this one. It was neat to see him look at the different Jurassic Park games. And I wanna say his review of "Jawls" blew the other guy's review out of the proverbial water. Anyone else think so or was it just me? I also like how at one point he stopped and said "I make shit references way too often, don't I?"
In the case of the NES Jurassic Park game, the Nerd didn't seem to like it, but I loved it as a kid. Though the raptors scared the hell out of me. They hide in bushes and (I think?) the archways he mentioned, so you don't see them until they move to attack, they move super fast, and they take a boatload of hits to kill (like everything else in the game, apparently)
