Yeah, I tend to agree, though it may be hard to find an image that's much better. The "genius" part doesn't really come through in this one, though at least it's alluded to.
Jet-a-Reeno!I guess it would have to be a picture of a seemingly ditzy individual pulling off something visibly incredible.
Teacher's pet.: Pillars of Moral Character.Perhaps Sequential Art #493? The 4 squirrels at least look ditzy while talking in binary.
Why does at least one of those characters have two faces?
EDIT: Gah, not working. I'm looking for a Wallace image that works.
Wallace from Wallace And Gromit in the Wrong Trousers◊?
Beaker from the Muppets looking like he fits this trope (perhaps)◊?

I think that Wallace picture would work better than EGS. You can at least tell by looking at the guy that he doesn't seem to be all there, but the robo-pants show that he's got to have some kind of noggin.
Uh...there's nothing genius or ditsy about this.
Lets see if I can find some panels of Mutsumi from Love Hina forgetting to write her name on a test and getting a 0 while later during a self practice exam during a group study session she gets a 90.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!The picture says ditz (she "painted" herself into a corner) and the text says genius. Not great, but not nothing.

She was painting? I couldn't even tell until you pointed it out.
Mopping. But the expression that exactly describes that situation is "painted into a corner".
That's definitely better than the current pic.
Rhymes with "Protracted."That's a good one, but I think we only need the last two panels.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOh god, this! I laughed so freaking hard when it was revealed that she gets near perfect scores on her tests, but keeps forgetting to write her name down.
Last two frames could work.
Lets see how this works out I might need to work on it a little. [1]◊ [2]◊

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I like the Calvin and Hobbes. The manga one is too confusing to me.
Doesn't the Calvin and Hobbes one kind of rely on the caption though?
No, the Calvin And Hobbes caption just lampshades what's already in the comic.

Yeah, I included the first one just in case a different arrangement (such as first and third) would have been preferable.
EDIT: Oh, and just in case it might be better, I came up with a horizontal arrangement:

The Calvin example would work fine without a caption, even (though I think I'd still include the caption, as it adds a bit.)
The vertical arrangement looks better to me, more legible.

Jet-a-Reeno!The horizontal arrangement is the same size, just not on the forums. Right click to view image to see it full size.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWhen posting a caption box on the forum, I reduce width to 300 ([[caption-width:300:...) so it looks right.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Understood, but I still don't like the horizontal - actually, it's the cutoff of Calvin's word balloon that irks me more than anything, I think.
Jet-a-Reeno!
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
Genius Ditz.
I would like to begin by asking a couple of questions. 1) What am I looking at, the image is a tad small. 2) It isn't coherent enough at demonstrating this trope. What does this image have to do with being a Genius Ditz? I've never read this comic and it seems dangerously close to JAFAAC. I vote to change the image. So, fellow tropers, what do you guys think?
