I know that. I just thought it was funny to point out since hte likeness is frigging exact.
And here's another bit about SF 2 V I liked: Chun-Li's dad not being dead for once! I mean okay he's ambiguously in bad shape at the end but...
I liked that too.
Considering that in the Udon Comics, Cammy did kill Chun Li's dad, I'm glad they didn't go in that direction.
Though Chun Li being younger than Cammy was certainly odd, since I was under the impression it was the other way around in the main series (though I'm not clear how old Chun Li actually is).
One Strip! One Strip!UDON also did a Chun-Li comic focusing on her time in the police force and her relationship with her father.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...SFIIV also had a kickass intro:
Compared to that, Alter Memory's OP is incredibly bare bones.
Didn't the Japanese OP have Ryu and Ken running at teh camera like Baywatch?
I recall that the VHS (and DVD) versions used clips from episodes.
One Strip! One Strip!Only version I saw was on Starz
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. All Street Fighter II V reminds me is that we'll never have great animated adaptations of these kind of games again. :(
Though calling SF 2 V 'great' is a bit of a stretch, I'll take that over whatever the fuck Alter Memory was supposed to be.
Maybe we'll get a proper Anime....one day.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Maybe one day I'll ascend to godhood. It might happen, but it probably won't.

Song of the SirensAt least we have a Spiritual Licensee in the form of Kill La Kill.
So remember how Nu vs. Tager was impossible for the latter? Things changed
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. All of the CT comparisons may have gotten into poor Nu's head

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI was half-expecting them to pull the "later release date port" again, but at least we avoided that much.

Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Makes me think we're getting BB 4 pretty soon after all
I'm also happy about SCREEN mode doing the ending theme for Extend, I don't recall having a male singer before.
I do have to wonder if they'll cut down on Celica's importance to the plot in the next game.
Seriously, it's almost like they realized that she needed a reason for people to care about her, so they crammed all of her development into one game, at the cost of the characters we were already familiar with.
I'd hardly call all of that "development".
In any case, though, most of the more relevant plot devices she just happened to be tied to are taken care of at the moment, so that probably narrows it down to simply her current mortality rate and more inevitable forced Ragna shipping. Falling in line with the latter, though, I wouldn't be surprised if they still pretend that she's a primary character.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyAnd to think, a lot of this Celica hate would disappear if they just released the Blazblue novels internationally.
It still wouldn't change how horribly they translated her to the main series.
And I say this while having initially been interested in what she would actually be like.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI still don't understand how any of that is her fault tho; like, yea sure I hated how some of the other character got shafted too, but that's more to do with how the story was written than Celica herself.
Like, if the game was structured like any previous entry and everyone had their own story, would you really even be complaining at all?
Like, if she did have a lesser role, we'd be complaining she was pointless. So it's a lose-lose situation here :V

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does....Hm. Well, that's where nearly all of CP's inherent issues stemmed from, so...
But back to the subject, obviously Celica wasn't the one who wrote the game's story (and she's not even the one I dislike the most here; she's just the only one that's really brought up these days, outside of "ew, Remix Heart"), but it's kinda hard to find things to like about a character who serves as The Load for just about everybody and The Millstone for the main protagonist, yet is constantly coddled by everyone she interacts with (sans Kokonoe, naturally) for... basically nothing relevant, at the end of the day? Patching up Ragna and Bullet those few times? Giving the former a boring shonen resolve that Izanami casually overwrote?
On a lighter note, I will say that I did really like her meeting up with most of the 6H near the end of their story. Some surprisingly genuine stuff, even though it somehow managed to haul along a plothole of its own and was immediately followed by the highest concentration of Terumi bs this series has ever spewed oh wait lighter note oops

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyI mean I get what you're saying but none of that is her fault, or rather consciously anyway; she's a non-combatant and that's sort of understandable given the genre, but the fact remains, she's not a fighter :V She's the White Mage, I mean I don't know what you expect from them when their main purpose is to heal others.
As for the coddled part, could it just be because she's...ya know...nice? In a series that is mostly filled with a bunch of Jerkasses, Mad Scientists, and psychopaths I don't think one of the few characters being straight up nice and kind is suddenly a bad thing :V
Ok sure, I will admit some of the moments between her and Ragna are a little contrived. There's really no reason for her to stick so close to him beyond a vague threat by Kokonoe that didn't even need to exist, but that's really it.
I don't find what's so offensive about her that people just want her to die on the spot. It feels like this reaction is only reserved her character type to, when they're women who dare not be as badass as the other women alongside them and their only crime is merely existing. I've seen enough of this shit in Bleach and Naruto and I'm kind of annoyed that attitude is bleeding into this series too.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. How kind of them to Vita the C Ps again. I'll maybe import the US release, if there is one, if only to finally play through the story in English.
Agh, I missed the SFIIV discussion. I remember the European English version, which was apparently different from the American one, from my chyldehood. ;_; It had the Japanese opening, for one. I think it might have been one of the first animus I saw.
Estimated shipping time: 2-4 weeks.
It also had pedophile Vega towards Chun-Li.
