I made Pokémon and Teen Titan and Harry Potter OCs.

I think I had a Sonic OC in my head, but I never, like, did anything with it.

I mean, most of the time, I just imagined myself inserted into the story. It was only later that I began to try to think of actual original characters who could plausibly fit into the verse.

Yeah I only made OCs in my head. Though I have plenty of terribly written characters from creative writing I did in school or English from my childhood so I'm not saved from looking back and being embarrassed.

It was more of a general comment — I personally never got the appeal of Sonic and I've no clue why its fanbase is so... particular. I did make Avatar, Harry Potter and Teen Titans OC's, though. Horrible marty stus, the lot of them.

Same here. Except I never que crested an OC from zero but, instead, I've started modifying my self inserts so they could fit into the story. Many of them became so different from me that they might as well full OC.

I can honestly say that I've never made an OC, except maybe a child for Aang and Katara in my first ever fanfiction. Who was born during the course of the story.

The only time I was ever interested in making OCs was when I was around 8-11 and it was some weird mishmash of Neopets, Carmen San Diego and Jump Start games. :|

I had a Harry Potter OC. And I have a ton of Animorphs OCs. Nobody else, weirdly enough.

She wasn't. She was just a baby, and did baby things.

I've been kind of interested at making my own character, but I'm not exactly a whiz at roleplaying so I don't think I could really get into it and make something I like. I could try making my own Final Fantasy character based on the V job system, maybe, but that'd be the extent of my ability to create OCs.

EDIT: After making this post, I decided that I would make a Final Fantasy 5 OC.

I've never really had ideas for OC's beyond maybe ideas for villains and fusions. I usually like coming up with AU versions of characters, though.

Disclaimer: i don't have my own tumblr though i do browse the site. I just saw this conversation about OCs.

What's the general opinion about characters based of another authors's characters, but then used in one's own original canon?. I, for example, have a character who is visually similar to a genderswapped Cirno, but different in personality (way more serious). No direct mention of 2hu or its characters, but the reference is more or less clear.

I once made a sprite edit of a Sonic Kirby, that count as a Sonic OC?

To be honest, my OCs were all Kirby related, but also were never posted online.

Anyway did you know that Tumblr has been nominated for a 'Best Community ' Webby?

Are the people who nominate this stuff exposed only to Tumblr and 4chan? And even then it'd be a little suspect.

They've mostly cleared out the Neo Nazis and pedophiles? Now finally. I mean it can be a good community if you follow the right people? It's what you make of it really. But I don't know I would call it the best community.

Does Tumblr really have such a large pedophile infestation? Now, nazi & racist blogs i've heard about. And seen. But not a word about underage stuff. Does this include that lolicon/shotacon nonsense?

I've seen a chunk of it. They usually burn out pretty quickly cause child porn is bad and stuff.

I don't know if it's better or worse than any other form of media sharing site, but tumblr has the advantage of being able to share far worse stuff.

You can't really reliably have a twitter porn feed, for example.

Well, you can, but it'd be much more annoying to navigate.

Tumblr is good for porn, if you seek it out.

Also far less likely to give you viruses, as long as you ignore Erica.

I think I might of actually seen her before. I was sent a message one time and it said something along the lines of that and got some sort of freemium mmo sign up page. Didn't bother with it afterwards. Just exited off it.
