V3 lasted three years, and v4 lasted two and a half, I think. 'M not good with months.

Five years of my life. I'm twenty-three, and I have no close friends. I talk to nobody on the phone I'm not related to. I see nobody. Even at college, contact is minimal with people whose names I know.

Somebody's title or sigline, in either this thread or the Werewolf one, was vaguely annoying to me for some reason, and while I had the HAHAHA face avvie on, I thought of changing my title to something similar to but opposite it.

I can't remember what it was. I think it was only two words, or the pertinent part of it was only two words.

Not all science is evil, but neither is all science not evil. So many people think side = extreme. That is why arguments like this never die. People are having too much fun warring to try to solve anything.

It's why... okay, it's not why religion is still used as reason to make pants-on-head-stupid decisions. That's thanks to Appeal to Ignorance and Appeal to Force(/Tradition), and always has been.

EDIT: And that's why Logic, the academic subject, should be taught from as young an age as can grasp it, not as a college course in a major hardly anybody takes seriously.
"If A, then B" being a true statement does not necessitate that "If B, then A" is, nor does it necessitate that it is false. "There is an A such that X" does not necessitate that "All A are X," nor even that any given A is likely to be X.
The world would be that much less utter batshit stupid of a place if people learned this stuff as children.

And most religion would be, rightly so, shown the door in only a few generations. People still accept it as reason because they were taught it and their parents were taught it and their grandparents were taught it, and those people cannot even easily grasp that they were only taught it because their parents were taught it because their grandparents were taught it, because people do not enjoy entertaining scenarios in which so much that they are so invested in is wrong long enough to feel the faintest inkling of a hint that maybe it is indeed all incorrect.

So, so much of the most abhorrent acts by humans against humans can be justly and completely blamed on a given population's refusal to let go of the conclusions they drew from the answers to philosophical questions they received as infants. The parents didn't believe; they wanted to avoid thinking. The children were only deceived until they decided that it didn't matter if the answer was wrong. In that way, idiocy and mental laziness spreads through generations.

Faith in a person's character is hope. Faith in luck is desperation. Faith in a concept an argument (Of the premises and conclusion sort) is laziness.
