Hey! Reminds me of Jhonen Vasquez somehow.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in AnimeIt's kind of very old...not so representative of more recent stuff. Like this, which is inspired by Harlan Ellison's I Have No Mouth and Must Scream. I've started painting on Photoshop, too, and that's going much better than I thought it would.

Now, am I the only one with something to show? I'll bet at least...one HUNDRED of you can make these look like children's scribbles!
Some writing.Ahhh, no, not really. I can tell just by looking that your artistic skills make mine look paltry in comparison.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in AnimeOh, no...it's just different, like all styles are different. It's just a feeling, but I get the message that that was drawn by someone with a good feel for how the human face works, which can turn into an eraser-created hole on my page from all the guessing and erasing. Side views I won't even attempt. If you ever feel like teaching someone to draw profiles, I'm waiting.
Some writing.Agh! A new rival appeared!
Go, Werex!◊ ... err, wait, no... Go, handicapped girl from◊ Katawa Shoujo! ...
Go, hide in a corner and cry! *flees the battlefield*
You've got a good style, and as [AOD] says, it's surely Vasquez-esque.
so, is this a literal drawing fight? do people have to "hit back" with thier own drawings?
It seems more like a "show your art" thread. I can get behind that. Though, I've already linked like a dozen things I've done in another thread so it'd be shameless of me to do much more.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in AnimeYep, one of those.

I'm just starting to come off of a two year long case of artists-block which made me completely give up drawing for a while, so I don't really have much recent, but I have a few old ones saved:

Not exactly satisfied with them, but they're all I've got...
Edit:Oh, and yeah, obviously I drew my avatar. That's actually recent.

That last one looks awesomely three-dimensional.
Guess I'll break out the nightmare fuel.
And some cute brain bleach:

The iris is the only okay part of this one, which demonstrates no experience with eye anatomy:

Some writing.AFGNCAAP, can I just say that your artwork is awesome?
Seconded.
It's also kinda trippy at times.

Trippy describes it well.
Are there any tips online for drawing poses for a character who's doublejointed everywhere? The ways limbs aren't supposed to bend are too ingrained in my brain.
EDIT: Found a contortionist fetish site, which is sort of helping, but it's damn hard to translate the poses into Merhige's cartoon proportions.

D-d-d-doublepost!
WARNING: If seeing proportions and perspective mangled makes you twitch and squirm, don't click. I like drawing like that. It's fun. Okay, here◊ we go. Not colored yet, took me about half an hour. I'm going to add in the lanterns when I color. The contortionist is Merhige Phalangea, and the cow skull spider thing is his pet, Finis. I know I suck, but hey, it was a quickie, I'm fourteen and I consider my style borderline Deranged Animation. (I'm pretty proficient at drawing realistically, though) Do you think it looks too Animesque? I tried giving my characters some eye/nose shapes other than "huge and buggy" and "big and pointy", and I'm worried that now it looks too anime-ish.

Thanks, guys, but Photoshopping is more a matter of time and scale than any extra skill. Just do the textures you do on paper, but very small and over a lot of pixels. You don't even have to be as careful as you are normally. The yellow texture in picture 2 is just a lot of tiny random swirls, messily shaded, like one might doodle on a piece of notebook paper, but the messiness is too small to see well.
Meaty: Try drawing a rough outline of how they should bend, then draw the real limbs the opposite way.
Some writing.Speaking of double posts—whoa. Hold up hold up hold up. You're my littlest sister's age, Meaty!? You sound so much older...fuck; you're smart. And your drawings don't look too anime-like at all; they're pretty unique.
Some writing.Well, you know what they say. The internet makes grown men sound like five year olds and teenage girls sound like English majors.

Afghancap, I have to say I wish I had more CG skillz like you. My favorite would probably be the eye fetish, just because I have this inordinate love of drawing eyes for some reason.
I haven't gotten around to scanning most of what I have lying around. This is probably my favorite.◊ Then there's my one and only charity commission◊. If you know anything about machinery, you probably shouldn't look at it, for it will fill you with nerd rage. Even I know it makes no sense. Then again, that might be the point.
Ooh, Zeta, I LOVE your style, especially your gradient coloring! Does that woman have a story?
She was part of a series of drawings in a similar style of elemental spirits with facial markings. She is also the only one I've ever finished. Someday, someday. Funny you should mention liking my style, since I don't think I've ever had a consistent style between two drawings. See: this◊ and this◊. Two requests for the same character came out looking like they were done by different people.
Speaking of coloring, your drawing is exactly what I would expect from you (that being creepily awesome) but I'm interested to see how you'd color it. I'd imagine bright colors would be delightfully incongruous.
I WILL get around to scanning my sketches and posting them on dA.

With the boatload of writers here, there must be some of us who also like to express themselves in a visual manner. It's one of many ways to keep one thinking when one hasn't found the words for things. This wouldn't fit into the funny pictures topic because, well, not all art is funny. For one, I like to use the medium as an outlet for nightmare fuel.
So, without further ado...DOODLE FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!
