Probably something to push the whole "Them against us" mentality. I mean, that's what I'd focus on if I was in his shoes and trying to gain more power while dealing with Equalist.
Improving as an author, one video at a time. He's going to add another ponytail to his hair.
NOOOOO!
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.THAT FIEND
I will peel your skin off and put you in a box full of hungry rats. All because I feel like it.Maybe's Korra's upset about Tarrlok putting one over on Lin. Maybe Tarrlok tried to have Asami arrested.
Yeah, the Tarrlok wants more extreme measures against non-benders seems more likely. I kinda doubt he'd try for less extreme measures since he's been announcing over the radio that the Equalists aren't really interested in equality.
18 more hours...
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.Don't you mean sixteen?
Maybe his raids are hurting innocent people? He's treating it like a war, and it's agitating relations epically and hurting lots of people and in turn hurting benders because of bad image? That's my theory, but I'm not entirely sure that's right because Tarrlok seems smarter than that.
Well Tarlok is increasing the chaos. That's fact.
The questions are why? And what is there to gain?

Live your life. He's probably working with Amon to gain control of Republic City.
I will peel your skin off and put you in a box full of hungry rats. All because I feel like it.I'm on board with the Tarrlock crack down on non-benders" theory. Tarlock's treating this like a war and he thinks he's the one to lead the benders to victory.
I'll just stand here... and... pose.Maybe he honestly feels he's right in cracking down on non benders and the city(he might also be doing stuff like shorter curfew and really invasive military stuff), and hopes all these decisions will bring him power.
The dude is a Slytherin house. While surely there can be good Slytherin, their main attribute seems to be ambition. And it's pretty clear Tarrlok has a lot of that. It's not much of a stretch to assume it gets to Ambition Is Evil or Well-Intentioned Extremist(going back to the the episode title! heights. The more I'm thinking about it this might be the episode that pushes everything into full out chaos.
That's always a possibility but I think it'd be much messier and more intriguing if all our antagonists weren't on the same side.
Huh? I was just saying Tarrlok reminds me of the negative parts of Slytherin and how they seem to be very ambitious to the point of antagonism.

...you mean just Slytherin, right?
Feeling that one is honestly right doesn't make one's actions right. It would make him no better than Amon, though I do hope it hits that route and makes it clear that both sides are wrong and that motivation to doing something is not enough to make one good or right.
Besides, Tarrlok and Amon being on the same side doesn't sound like best route to go writing wise and I'd prefer to avoid going that one. Tarrlok is a Waterbender and this is really a reflection of waterbender mentality. Least in evil hands - take advantage of situation and adapt it to your advantage.

Improving as an author, one video at a time.I didn't mean to imply him believing in what he was doing made it right. I mean that sect of Mormons who have multiple under-aged wives think their right don't they? And Hitler thoughts he was right. I just meant that's his motivation, he feels he's right. In addition that whole take over Republic City thing. Also if it was because he felt he was right it'd make him even better foil to Amon like you mentioned.
Also good point about the waterbending!
I'm not up to speed to quite jump into... whatever it is we're talking about now, but a quick question. The episodes are indeed on Nick.com, yes? I've missed a few episodes, so I'll probably spend tonight and some of tomorrow afternoon catching up.
Also, any word if tomorrow's episode will be new? I honestly wasn't expecting a repeat last week.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The Madiamthecircle: Slytherin House is a group. The people in said group are called "Slytherins", not "Slytherin Houses".
anyway continue beyond my nitpicking
Tis new, sir X.
I will peel your skin off and put you in a box full of hungry rats. All because I feel like it.Ah, I see. I thank thee, sir Makai.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The Mad/wants to get this off my chest
WTF don't they say when the next episode is going to air in the ending credits?!
And the Winner is... didn't say when The Aftermath would be aired. (No preview as well.)
Spirit of Competition, I think, also didn't say "Next Week on The Legend of Korra" and only showed one picture as preview.
There was one other episode which had fans scrambling to check when the next one would be airing. Can't recall specifically which one.
I'd be okay with the no heads up when the next episode will be airing IF TV Guide was reliable, but TV Guide got the scheduling wrong for more than 50% with Korra.

Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.New episodes at 11AM every Saturday except last. Not hard to remember.
Edit: I hate that stupid Nick forum advertisement too...ugh. But I am glad there are no more previews because Trailers Always Spoil. ALWAYS. And shit has gotten too intense to spoil.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Honestly, I have no clue. I mean I would say it seem like the network isn't giving the show the respect it deserves, but that's not true because it's getting them really high ratings, especially among the teen demographic. They stopped giving previews after the Spirit of Competiton. Rather they just went on about how the shows is popular and talked about the lame comments people make on their site("Bolin makes me lol" "Everyone on the council has a secret." "I know who Amon really is."). Then after And The Winner Is... they didn't remark on the show at all and just went on promoting iCarly.
That's why I keep up with Tumblr despite the idiocy. Bill Rinaldi and/or Bryan have been updating people about whether there will be a new episode or not. They also complained about TV guides showing new episodes as repeats so maybe that nonsense will stop.
I guess people are paranoid of a hiatus. Which considering the last series...

I think nick is trying to keep Korra from out doing the Sponge. I'm not sure why, but they've always been kind of forcing Spongebob to the top. Probably because Spongebob doesn't have Canon and is therefore easier to make merchandise for.
Viacom is a buncha cowards, that's why.
"The marvel is not that the Bear posts well, but that the Bear posts at all."No, it's because an unsympathetic asshole of a marine organism is more somehow more in the Animation Age Ghetto than Korra.
A single phrase renders Christianity a delusional cult
Yes that is indeed possible.
