They were leaving in the morning though. Su is in charge of the city. I would think she could help them sneak back in and make off with her. Nobody would suspect she was doing anything wrong so she can just take out all the guards easily.
You have a point about her sending them out like that but why do that when she could just help the Red Lotus sneak in again and kidnap her?
The bigger question is, why play such a key role in saving Korra in this episode?
Seriously, all she had to do was miss Zaheer's glider with those metal shuriken, or not come up with the "rescue from above" idea in the first place. =P It wouldn't have even been suspicious.
I didn't even consider that. If Su turns out to be behind it at this point it will just seem like a massive Ass Pull.
If Su was going to be a traitor, and their goal is kidnapping the avatar, she'd have done something by now. Arranged for fewer guards, helped these bad guys escape, something.
Also, why is it the red lotus? Black is the opposite of white, is think black lotus would be better. Sounds more threatening to.
I'm baaaaaaackRed is the color of blood?
edit: Wow look at what the lotus petal does! How did none of us catch that?

I guess because red lotuses actually exist.
Also the most obvious and/or cliche choice doesn't always need to be used.
Did anyone else suspect Zhu Li to be The Mole this episode after she, unlike Varrick, was conspicuously not interrogated? Just me? Okay then.

I admit, I did wonder about that for a bit.
Maybe the thing will be revealed to be betraying everyone and going on a rampage against the avatar.
And all Varick will have to say is And that's another crazy woman in my life.
One Strip! One Strip!I guess because red lotuses actually exist.
Not only do they exist, they've got symbolism associated with them, too!
This symbolizes the original nature of the heart (hrdaya). It is the lotus of love, compassion, passion, activity and all the qualities of the heart. It is the lotus of Avalokitesvara.
Read into that what you will...
I will say, I find it suspect that Su Yin's motivation for sending Korra head first into this danger is because her trust was betrayed.
It's more that she recognizes that Korra is ultimately right, and doesn't want to deal with directly confronting her sister.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I am. Im a little confused but I think it can be applied to the Airbenders and benders in general:
- Long ago there were 4 types of benders, but everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked the airbenders.
- Only the Avatar, master of all 4 elements, was all that remain of these Airbenders until his son Tenzen was born, and eventually Korra, Jinora, Ikki and Meelo.
- After Harmonic Convergence, there is a sudden influx of airbenders meaning that mastery of the elements would have been closer to its natural state (that is that people would have control over once of 4 elements instead of 3. And I;m discounted subclasses like Blood or Metalbending and the even more rare Energybending)
If bending is the heart then Harmonic Convergence is it returning to the way it was

Anyone else think that it's more than just a coincidence that the last book three episode to air on Nickelodeon is the one where someone in charge is betrayed by someone they trusted the most in an attempt to get rid of Korra? I can't be the only one that sees the resemblance to current events, can I?
Oh Korra!
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNot at all surprised the Red Lotus had an inside man - all that stuff about how safe Zaofu was was asking for it.
And Mako showing off those detective skills.
Also thinking Bolin actually metalbending might be a big season finale type moment.
The owner of this account is temporarily unavailable. Please leave your number and call again later.Maybe he'll be a lavabender instead of a Metalbender?
I had the same thought.
dang, really good tense episode. shame nick has dropped the second episode. >:{
(•_•)⌐■-■ ( ಠ_ಠ)>⌐■-■ (⌐■_■)Tenzin had the best character arc of season 2, now Lin has her own. While Korra and her friends went through a trite love triangle twice, and so far have been fighters more than characters. Why are the adults better writtent than the teenagers who are the nominal protagonists?
A blog that gets updated on a geological timescale. So I loved The Terror Within. So much intrigue...
They're really called Combustionbenders. Good to know.
And I found the source of the four Krew looking disgusted: Varrick getting his feet softened with pumice.
I didn't think Aiwei was a conspirator until they found that evidence in Hong Lee's house. Very good of him.
And so the Red Lotus doesn't want to kill Korra, just take her somewhere. Which is lucky for them because she's going after them, so at least then she'll find out why.
five bucks says Sokka invented that term.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.One thing I noticed is that you can curve combustionbending so it goes around corners. Not sure how I feel about that since it makes it a bit over powered.
I was surprised at how she spun it around the corner. It seemed so cheaty.
Well, that episode happened.
Varrick, king of inventions that do things!(!!)
Bolin, who sucks at metalbending but who cares, Rock Snipe!
Mako, Detective extraordinaire!
Korra! Who, admittedly, kinda got Worfed this episode.
I still love Varrick. PUMICE!

Yeah, it's possible, but I still say it's unlikely.
