The Answer by Bran Van 3000 (not the annoying latch bros remix)
I drink 17 cups of coffee in court. That song is fantastic. Thanks! ^^
There's also Moby, though his stuff is more on the Electronic side.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you.""Pauls Botique" by The Beastie Boys is fairly experimental but their other work isn't.
If life gives you lemons, sell the on ebay for 20 bucks. Now that I think about it: nearly all of Bran Vans songs (espicially their discoisis album)
I drink 17 cups of coffee in court.Long.Live.A$AP is out for realz. Shit is dope, manages to make some interesting guest choices work well.

If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.I like him, but I will be the first to admit that he's no lyricist. I could definitely see how his stuff could come across as pretty repetitive and insubstantial, but in my opinion, he seems to have a good idea for the types of songs he can do and how to make them sound good, if not dropping amazing bars.
Also, I would recommend listening to this. Love the production.
https://soundcloud.com/rich-justice-hinmen Too white for the black kids, too white for the white kids. The only song I got from the album is "I Come Apart,", because of Florence Welch.
However, I'm getting an alt pop album next, although I wonder what Kanye's next album will be like.
I was big into rap during my middle and high school years. Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, De La Soul, Digital Underground, EPMD, Too Short and 2 Live Crew were usually in my tape deck. (The last three I just made TV Tropes articles on, by the way.)
Times Like This ... A Comedy of Eras. While hip-hop is not exactly among my favourite genres, I love my compatriot act Puppetmastaz. Ironically, they're rather unknown here in Germany where I come from, and have most of their fans abroad, esp. in France.

Damn, Yeezus is trash.
Listening to some of the leaked tracks. It's definitely an interesting album, but I think it will grow on me.
Also, the final version of "New Slaves" was modified from the version premiered. Interesting additions on that front.
But yeah, Hype Backlash is going to hit hard.
And on a different note, Chief Keef is only seventeen, yet his hook in "Hold My Liquor" seems like something you would expect an older rapper to tackle.

Double posting just to say that Jay-Z's new album is coming out next month.
And Samsung will be selling one million copies with their phones, which they bought for $5 a piece from Jay-Z's people. It's an ambitious distribution method.
I swear to god, if Jay doesn't put that beat J. Cole made for him on his new album, I'm going after Blue Ivy.

I am so ready for Matangi to be released.
Just made a YMMV post on Nas. In it, I categorized Hip Hop Is Dead as Seasonal Rot. Anyone care to debate this?
Listening to the album again just in case I'm wrong (for the first time since '08). The first half is very trite. The Jay-Z and Kanye guest spots weren't bad. Nonetheless, this album seems like a product of its time—and its time is past. In a world after Katrina and Obama, this album just doesn't have the impact.

Sounds more like Seinfeld Is Unfunny to me.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."That might be a valid assessment. I might just be lashing out at it a bit because when I first listened to that album I wasn't knowledgeable enough to be opinionated about it.
On another hand, ever since Illmatic Nas fans seem to expect albums that are more... timeless in nature.
Edit: On second thought, that assessment might be flawed. The themes discussed in Hip Hop Is Dead aren't exactly original themes, but more of re-hashing the same kinds of topics that were under discussion in the rap business at the time of its release. The more "gangsta" leanings of several songs have been previously explored by Nas himself in a far more effective way, whether in the Nineties or later. The uncertain status of hip-hop/rap was a buzz topic generally lacking the sociopolitical urgency of what came afterwards. Hip Hop Is Dead isn't a terrible album (though the phony accent and too-obvious double entendres in "Who Killed It" really pushes it), but for Nas, it's just not good enough.

Atmosphere.
Holy shit, Atmosphere.
I think When Live Gives You Lemons is one of my favorite albums ever.
Ever.
