Did any of you guys get PQ early? I got mine like that. Also, how many arms and legs did the Wild Cards edition cost you?

The P3 Hero really needs to talk more (Warning: Screenshots), preferably in his English voice. It's in a lower register and less energetic, nothing like his P3 voice (It was much higher). But that voice is with Yosuke now, he needs a distinct one.

Have you noticed there's a higher amount of asshole options in the choices (Playing the P4 Hero)? But since they're available...

Yeah.

[up]Probably because they are basing his personality on the source a lot of the fans more associate with his character now, Ie: The movies.

Which is something that I don't like, but I am not part of ATLUS, so what can I do?

[up]It does seem like, according to people who had PQ since it's japanese release, it's based more on the Makoto Yuki interpretation (midway through the 2nd movie). I interpret PQ's interpretation closer to "Leader" of the Drama CD's.

It's actually easy to join ATLUS. Just submit a resume emphasizing your experience with computers and mythology and during the interview process, if you pass, the interviewer will reveal himself to be a demon and send you down a dungeon where your negotiation skills will be tested against hoards of other demons . Survive and you're hired.

Yeah.

I just got to the point where Sub Personas are unlocked, so I think I have a decent feel of the game so far. I decided to go with the Persona 4 characters first, and while this is my first experience with Etrian Odyssey gameplay so far things have been relatively smooth. Mapping's not too bad or time-consuming as I had first feared (I don't have auto-mapping on, but I do have the leader lines on) but battling is where things take some getting used to, since everyone starts with one attack and a pitiful amount of SP. So, boosting's an interesting and very useful mechanic, like taking out the Tables is a cinch by simply having Naoto attack one normally then following up with a free Hama on the next turn. I haven't figured out the triggers for characters' special attacks or All-Out Attacks yet, since unlike the main games it doesn't look like you need all the enemies knocked down to activate them.

On the downside, the "Wow! 11 Tarot cards!" message on the box reminds me of the "Wow! It's fucking nothing!" meme, since I'd much rather we'd gotten the arranged soundtrack that Japan got than pieces of paper/plastic that are just going to languish in my room.

Not that I will even pretend to know anything about tarot cards... but don't you usually need the Minor Arcanas and the Major Arcanas to do anything?

Depends what you want to do. Fortune telling is often done with only the major arcana and some card games only use the major arcana as well. Aren't the minor arcana basically just a normally deck of cards?

My game came to the shop and is ready for pick up...the minute before they close for the day. Will have to pick up two of the last three 3DS games I'm ever buying(PQ, Pokémon OR and Bravely Second)tomorrow.

[up][up] Even discounting the Minor Arcana you've only got half a deck; there are 23 Major cards.

I was working under the assumption that you had the entire major arcana from Ultimax and Q or whatever. The question was whether you need both arcanas to do anything.

And wait, there are 22 cards aren't there? Fool is 0 or 22.

Well, that one has only been in one game so far.

They include Aeon? Weird. The few Aeon or Hunger Personas that made it into Q (as DLC, of course) got their Arcana reassigned. Kaguya is Moon (also of course) and Magatsu-Izanagi is...Tower.

Why he isn't Fool or even Strength I dunno, but Tower works I guess.

Well the Tarot cards are also the ones seen ingame rather than custom ones of the characters from both games so I'm not surprised that they didn't make getting the whole set worth it.

I think Margaret also pulls the Tower when trying to figure out why Yu can't use more than one persona, before getting the Fool and realizing it shines upon them all.

Since I don't have an opportunity to play PQ, I was reading online stuff that I've bookmarked earlier and trying to do fusion.

Curly Kanji looks funky here; and, is it me, or is there something Holmes-ish to the profile on the bottom-bottom-left? Incidentally, these designs rekindled my recent spark to see more Cool Old Guy protagonists and/or active party members. I think I'll play Advance Wars when I'm done with Persona.

Oh, and about fusion - I tried making a Judgement persona from Narasimha, and a guide told me to add Mokoi and Kaiwan to the mix. I did that, but the result is an Emperor. What could be the issue here? And yes, I know that Triangle uses actual levels of personas in the equation - but the levels I use are right, and there should be no Emperor in the first place.

I wonder if anyone bothered to check - when you start a New Game Plus, and your Izanagi was of a higher level, is it still the same level during the fight with Shadow Yosuke, or does the game give you a fresh one? Also, as I understand, maximum character level in the game is 99. Do personas gain battle experience after you get there? It would make sense to me if they don't, and it would also make sense if they do.

If anyone is interested, I can also talk about personas I already fused. Three of... Four or five I've decided on are already done.

Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.

You get a new one. Your old one is in the compendium. Personas continue to gain experience. If they didn't, you could never get most of Izanagi no Okami's skills without abusing the hell out of Shuffle Time. Wait, did Shuffle Time in vanilla have a card that leveled your persona up?

WELP, evidently my destined partner is Theodore. I answered the questions as honestly as I could and I ended up with him. Well, I can see why. I like dorks and he's a dork.

(Wanna see Minato and Fuuka, Mitsuru and Ken and Yu with Rise, Chie and...Kanji?)

PQ made me sad. Just lost a ton of progress on the third floor because apparently some enemies can dodge Hama even if they're weak to light. At least I get to watch the scene where they shrink down to get the key again.

they've always been able to dodge hama or mudo even if they're weak to them.

I'm on You in Wonderland's second floor and things are starting to ramp up thanks to the Justice Swords running around (esp. that battle for the Bastard Sword that has five of them). Been trying to get as much Bufu-users on my team as possible for this floor to deal with them and the Sleeping Tables. No wipes yet, but Yu's died twice on me now.

Oh, and Wealth Hands are assholes, what with dodging everything while taking out 50% of your health with one attack, then running.
