Guys, Microsoft may have screwed up. They have all of the DLC up on their online DLC list... except for playable Adachi.

Whoa, there is this thread, too. Copy-pasting ahoy!

Hello, gentlemen (and ladies, if any).

So, since I'm on TV Tropes forum most often, and TV Tropes has (almost) everything, I thought I'd start here. Also, I apologize if it was asked before, but reading through 400+ pages is kind of a... Chore.

So. Playing Persona 4 now; making friends and facing issues to gain superpowers to save people - and the economy of the Inaba town. Currently highest stat Expression and Understanding, lowest stat Diligence. Yes, trying to max Nanako's and Uncle's SL early. Yosuke's SL at 9 (bros before potential love interests), calendar at the first rainy day of Rise's dungeon, the party at lvl 4 catching rainy-day-only drops. In hindsight, I should have picked Normal difficulty.

My request to you is related to that last point. I'm considering a New Game+ at Hard difficulty, and want to fuse some Personas for that occasion. The fist and central one being Angel. Yes, the lowest-level Justice, weak to Dark and strong to Wind and Light. The second Persona I'm considering is someone from the fae family (Pixie, Sylph, Titania, Leanan Sidhe), and then maybe Hua Po and Yaksini. I'd like to keep maybe three-to-five Personas in total, and, as you see, the choices are mostly aesthetic (but lower levels and diverse arcana are preferable).

The skills I want to have: all or almost all elemental spells (Garu, Agi, Dia and/or Megi go to bros and potential love interests); a good physical attacker; and buffers/debuffers (this is a must, because I'm not impressed with the party members' buffs/debuffs so far). Sticking Growth or Invigorate on as many Personas as possible would also be nice, but seeing that it might be impossible, I'll be content with three out of five.

I've got myself a program, called Igor's Index, which might help me in choosing the best fusion, but will not be able to tell me what is a ridiculously bad idea, and what is a better idea. And so, I ask you, fellow tropers - what would be the best Personas? Should I fuse low-level skills and then Magician-Arcana them up, or would it be more effective to fuse high-level skills from the start? Are there any particular tricks, or something to avoid? If it all was already discussed, or if there's a better place to ask this sort of questions, can I have the link? Also, I'm playing from an emulator, and am not adverse to savestate scumming.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

TL, DR: Fusion choices advice or link, please.

Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.

Better to go for more powerful skills from the get-go.

EDIT: Are you playing P4 vanilla, or Golden?

[up]Its vanilla because he says emulation.

Now I can't help you much, because I don't dabble much in low level fusion like that, other than fusing an Archangel with all 4 elements and resist phys (or Lillim in 3)

I recommend you simply pass down a skill like Invigorate from a higher level persona. For example, you could just fuse a Sarasvati (17) and gain Invigorate 2. You could also pick up a Slime, get it to level 7 and then you have Resist Physical, which will do until you get Null and later Repel Physical. Those two skills are all you really need, but picking up options like Tarunda and passing them around would also be a good idea.

As far as elemental skills go you can probably rely on your party for that most of the time. Personally, I prefer phsyical skills. Elemental skills are kind of a gamble because they're only worth using if your opponent is weak to them, an actual liability against two possibilities (repel and absorb) and largely ineffective if resisted or nulled outright.

Also, you seem to be implying you want to get a low level persona and then level up throughout the game. Unless you want to do it for pure bragging rights privileges, I wouldn't bother. There are no skill cards in vanilla P4, making it a huge hassle. You'll also never have access to a few skills like Hassou Tobi or personas that have a large number of resistances, which tend to be what I focus on when considering whether or not to use a persona.

In short, for skills you just need Invigorate and Resist/Null/Repel Physical plus a decent AOE physical attack plus maybe some support skills. For specific personas, don't bother fusing together strong low level stuff and just pick stuff that is good defensively when leveling, meaning try to use ones that have no weaknesses or are immune to your opponents attacks.

So, no plans to fix the dual audio issue?

I wouldn't really call it an issue, but I don't think they're going to bring back dual audio for story modes.

I wonder why they removed that dub anyways. I can't imagine it being a space thing, and even then they could compress it. Yes, that would hurt the quality, but if its purely for the dedicated otaku I can't see that being much of a problem either, considering that a lot of us actually cannot speak the language anyways.

They probably took it out so that people can't keep pointing to Arena to say "You see?!? You guys made that dual audio!"

[up]Didn't know that either. That leaves me curious, did they reuse the old audio in the Japanese dub (again?), or did they replace the va (I know about his death)?

That reminds me. Near the beginning they mention Marie and a storm happens, and Yu's thoughts mention that she's a minor goddess of Inaba.

Oh, Yu.

I also thought it was very interesting that The Velvet Room Crew appeared before Sho, but he actually denied their services. Can you imagine what their conversation must have been like?

Unit-kun: Yes, vanilla.

Yuuki-kun: Hmm... Tell me about those anyway, please.

Arha: So you're saying, "Yoshitsuna like everyone"? Relying on my party members for elemental attacks is a sound advice, but there can be no more than three of them at a time. While the number of elements is at least four, and if you count Light and Dark then six. Also, another reason to have elemental attacks are the enemies who aren't weak to anything, but have higher DEF than MDEF (dunno what the stats are actually called). And hey, beside bragging rights, there's also the feeling of achievement from completing a (not really necessary, but that's part of the point of "self-imposed") challenge.

Although, I wonder playing Hard with low-level Personas is too much. If there was only a way to get Moon Tsukubame beside Easy Mode...

EDIT: Oh, and are Growth skills actually inheritable?

He isn't actually the first person who rejects the call, though he actually got to the "Velvet Room" stage.

If I recall, it was a minor plot point in EPP that Shiori could have been a Persona user but refused to let Philemon awaken her power (and indeed, still does even in the game's present).

I knew it, I knew I didn't need to buy the first Arena for the story! But no, I had to be fucking paranoid! The least they could do is unlock the Arena story mode is I have a clear save mode.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
