Kokusho and Yosei are pretty vicious. If you cast a Kokusho, you get a beater that will probably steal 5 life at least, or at worst swing twice and get legend ruled by another one of your Kokushos for the win.
Yosei's essentially a baby Emrakul. Can't annihilate, doesn't have pro colors, but the effectively extra turn is awesome!
@Gelzo: But non-active player abilities resolve first...
I guess it is.derp
Ruining everything forever.Well, I just lost an EDH game (for myself and two other people) due to having one too little mana to cast Terminate. Why did I not have enough? Because I'd cast Far Wanderings...while an opponent had Aven Mindcensor out.
I really need to stop sucking at Magic sometime.
I guess it is.Temporal Aperture is really really goddamned fun in EDH.
月を見るたび思い出せ[[quoteblock]] Hymn to Tourach is out of the question because it's from Fallen Empires, and I'm fairly sure that older cards are more expensive.
Hymm to Tourack is about $6 for a playset, probably less if you shop around.
A pittance for a set of cards that literally rape the targets hand.
Yes, LITERALLY, hands all be needing therapy and support groups after HtT gets a hold of it, provided it even survived.
…Gonna shut up now before the people who play with Hymm to Tourak get accused of being Rape apologists.
Justice is a joy to the godly, but it terrifies evildoers.Proverbs21:15 FimFiction account.Fallen Empires cards are dirt cheap because the set was horribly overprinted. Really, "old cards are expensive" only applies to sets older than that.

I guess it is.Okay, I'll admit it. I don't want to run Hymn to Tourach because I hate the old card aesthetic. Anything olde than the Mirage block just feels "bleh" to me due to the way the cards are worded.
Shallow? Yes.
Hell, it isn't on the reserve list, so I'd buy it as soon as it gets a reprint.

Why I am afraid of fences.I highly doubt it'll ever get one unless they really do From the Vault: Overpowered Commons like I suggested once. It's too powerful to go in a "real" set, and Wizards really hates random discard so I doubt they'd put it in a Duel Deck.
Anyway, what about the version from Anthologies? That's post-Mirage.

I guess it is.I thought I was the only one!
WHO IS THIS LOSERWell, I've finally done it. I've built a goblin deck. It doesn't look all that great, but there's something heartwarming about a swarm of angry grotz leaping towards your opponent.
Also, it has Koth in it for that extra bit of wham.
My favourite move in my EDH is waiting until someone casts their general, then sticking Corrupted Conscience on it.
Thinking of taking out Slow Motion for Fireball.
月を見るたび思い出せWhoa. Won that game by a hair. Bribery'd up a Spirit of the Hearth, suspended into Time Stretch into Time Warp, bounced the only blocker on the field and just barely swung for lethal damage.
I also cast Red Sun's Zenith on an opponent's Birds of Paradise. On turn two. For one damage. I am the spite master.

月を見るたび思い出せYeah, I'd cut the Slow Motion. Two mana isn't exactly hard to come by in EDH. Comet Storm would be better than Fireball if you want an X-burn spell, though.
I guess it is.Remind me to never play EDH with you.
WHO IS THIS LOSEROr you could just play enchantment destruction?
I guess it is.It's not because "Oh no, how do I get around that", it's because "That seems like the kind of assholeish thing you do just to laugh in someone's face about it".
WHO IS THIS LOSERYou heard it here first: playing cards that hurt your opponent makes you an asshole!
Edit: Okay, that was kind of a dickish way to phrase that, but the point stands. Stealing effects are part of the game, and they're pretty damn common in EDH.

I guess it is.I would compare that less to "playing cards that hurt your opponent" and more to "making a deck based around nothing except making your opponent discard every card he gets" or "countering literally every spell in the game". The most fun part of EDH is the commanders, building a deck based around what they can and cannot do and pitting them against other commanders. "Waiting for someone else to play their commander and then playing Corrupted Conscience" just feels like one of those moments that you don't do to win, just to be an utter asshole to your opponent. You're taking the main "gimmick" of EDH and not letting them use it. You're basically saying "I have personally singled you out to not enjoy this game."
Stealing an opponent's creature? Fine. That happens. Stealing an opponent's commander, making it better by default (not even with any other cards, it just gives them infect and makes them strictly better than what you had), and then beating them with it? Pretty damn lame.
inb4 "IT'S FUN FOR MEEEE!". It's not all about what you find fun, it's what the group finds fun. If you just want to make yourself happy, just go masturbate, you're just playing with yourself either way.

WHO IS THIS LOSERIt's just one card in a 100 card singleton deck. Settle.
Ruining everything forever.Well, it is a blue enchantment...
