Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

What do you guys think of Will Our Souls Remember as a theoretical band name?
Sounds like a new age thing. Reincarnation and past lives and all that shit. Intriguing...
What kind of music do you play?
"Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen."I don't actually have a band, I just like the name :p
Currently reading up on Finnish Mythology for a book.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Speaking of mythology, I had this random thought recently. Why is it that, as the page for The Fair Folk says, fairies and Christianity don't mix?
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Where does it say that?
New theme music also a boxWoops, I meant the Analysis page. ^_^;;
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.I don't see it on the analysis page either.
Oh yeah, Christianity has had a huge influence on how fairies are depicted
Apparently Christianity considers them demonic but not evil enough for hell or good enough for heaven so they are somewhere in between
New theme music also a boxI had to mention the fair folk, didn't I? The website just weirded out for a second or two.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Ah yes, Finnish mythology. Where a dude got swallowed by a swamp because an old man was pissed at him.
Just got hit with a case of Stranger in a Familiar Land thanks to Google Earth. My old dorm is gone.
Sorry to hear that. :( -hugs-
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Games Workshop is like the school bully who punches you in the gut and tells you to give him your money. It seems like they don't really care about the fans as long as they keep buying the minis.
I watched that Pepsi ad Twitter is raging about and I have more questions than answers.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Pepsi ad....?
edit: oh I see. Its a commercial focused on a protest agaisnt something- they dont say what because they dont want to offend anyone who would buy their drink. Its basically monetizing social justice, but without the bite and more for the sake of being "hip" and "trendy". Speaking of, I've always found it confusing how groups who have always existed are considered contemporary, but thats its own load of unfortunate implications
I do agree with you though that its mostly confusing, but its mostly hilarious because it tries to be serious, but every time you see a pepsi your reminded that theyre selling you something

Brands like Pepsi and Coke are at the point where they don't need advertising to get you to know about their product, they use it to keep you thinking about their product so you'll be more inclined to buy the next time there's an opportunity. So they tend to hitch their ads to positive messages already in the public consciousness.
Well, not just positive messages. I've been hearing a lot of radio spots lately advertising "Coca-Cola and food!" They're pushing the world's vaguest, most obvious serving suggestion.
Fresh-eyed movie blogGiven that #Resist/#Resistance/whatever it is nowadays on Twitter gets used for purity tests/various bits of inanity/poisoning your own well, seeing a big company do it is a change of pace.
A dumb one, but it still is something new to shake my head at.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotI hate it whenever a corporation monetizes protests in some commercial or even references them on paper (a NY restaurant once renamed one of their menu items using the word "recession" to indicate how it was cheaper than before) because it makes them look less real and cheapens whatever message the protests are trying to get across.

Watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern is making me hungry. >.< ^_^;;
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.I'm just gonna come right out and ask this:
Is it possible for the following animal couples to reproduce?
A male Lion and female Puma
A male Tiger and female Cheetah
A Wolf and a Coyote
A wolf and a fox
A Fox and a dog
A dog and an African Wild Dog
An African Wild Dog and a Jackal
A wolf and a Dingo
A wolf and a jackal
An Iguana and a Komodo Dragon
An Eagle and Falcon
An Eagle and an Owl
An eagle and a Vulture
A falcon and a hawk
Well, today's rather brief trip into town certainly was something.
