How did flat-roofed pubs gain their deadly reputations?

I haven't heard of such a reputation, but flat-roofed buildings will collect rain and snow and develop leaks or collapse under extra weight.

Also flat roofs are more inviting to dance on if you're drunk enough to want to but not toodrunk to get up there.

I just noticed this old VHS copy of The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain is "edited to fit your screen and for content". I've never seen censored home video. I wonder what got cut between theater and cassette.

I imagine Heaven as a tropical rainforest because all the nature books and TV shows describe them as great realms of life, so I thought of Heaven looking like that too. And that's also why the Stone Cutters settled on a tropical island in the Pacific Ocean because it reminded them of home. :)

Was it the glow from Kilauea?

Was it Akaka Falls?

Was it those Manta Rays in the dark?

Was it the view from Diamond Head?

Was it walking through downtown Honolulu?

Was it the waters of Hanauma Bay?

Was it the sight of whales breaching in the channel?

Was it the rainforest along the Hana Highway?

Was it the majestic snowcapped Mauna Kea or imposing Haleakala?

Was it the sharks off the North Shore of Oahu?

Was it the rainbow of fish off that rocky shoreline of Maui?

Honestly, I don't know. I'm sorry if I'm sounding really pretentious here, but it really was that kind of experience for me.

I feel like expanding on this and setting it to that Discovery Channel ad.

Personally I'd think of the bugs in a tropical rainforest as a plus.

Except mosquitoes, screw those guys. Well, screw those girls, I guess, since female mosquitoes are the ones that suck blood. Whatever. They're jerks, I can misgender them all I want. Who even says they have gender identities? They're too stupid to have a concept of gender. Stupid mosquitoes.

Yeah, fuck mosquitoes. At least most spiders will leave you alone if you don't bother them.

I'd rather have bats then mosquitoes. More shitting everywhere, but they only come out of their hidey-holes at night.
