If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.

Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

You can make it easier to reheat dishes with cheese in them if you cook them with milk and butter.

The part of the AC/DC song "Hell's Bells" "You're only young, but you're gonna die!" got me wondering. I get the feeling that guy doesn't get invited to many birthday parties. tongue

I picked the wrong day to wear a head scarf....

I have the 6:45-11 AM shift at work, and due to issues with my key I couldn't get into my apartment till late last night, so showering was not a thing, but my hair is wild, so the only thing to do was wear a scarf. But that combined with my full name and complexion and all has meant at least three guys from the same class have come up to me to ask if I was born here? (They apparently need someone from Eastern Europe to interview.)

Why was homework invented, anyway? And whose idea was it?

In American education, homework rose in popularity as a way of trying to keep ahead of the Soviets during the Cold War.

I disagree, I mean it's just like like practicing, you can't practice all the time in class, you need to switch to new subjects to cover all the stuff right? If you didn't have homework and you still wanted to practice the material, you probably would've needed to stay until like... What, 10:00/9/8 PM in school or something?

It's basically just to keep the material fresh in your mind for tests and what not.

At least, in theory.

Some homework is annoying, obviously but that can be said about anything that you need to repeat in order to master, even if it's a hobby.

Also I do not live in America so homework for me isn't that same thing, neither is the whole education system. Keep that in mind.

My school doesn't do too much hw, according to parents, but if other schools have more, how do the kids have friends.

Back when I still went to school, I used to like Afrikaans, English and Mathematics homework, though not so much in 2011 (since I missed the first two days of school, not knowing that it started on a Monday; my parents and I thought it started on a Wednesday).

Not to mention that's when my depression got much worse than it had gotten in 2010. sad

EDIT: triple ninja'd. How did I expect that.
