Well, there are only two "ants" with any fight left: The King and Pitou. Depending on what happens with the King's state of mind, there could be an epic fight or tearjerker scene or both or anything in between. That is a fight that might not happen, and this is probably the final fight between Gon and Pitou.
Take your pick for ways that this is "the final battle".
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!... part of me is expecting an Anticlimax Boss with Killua just coming up behind and lopping off Pitou's head while he's focused on Gon >.>
But... yeah, wow. Even Pitou looked a bit worried there for a second. This could be interesting.
News flash from Jump, brought to you by yours truly from the Mahou Sensei Negima thread:
The Internet is now overflowing with illegal copies of manga. All of these illegal copies run counter to the wishes of mangaka. They also ignore the wishes of the creator as to how the manga should be read.
It may be done without much thought, but in reality it hurts the mangaka who pour their creative talents into these works, and it is also against the law.
When we discover such illegal copies, we discuss possible measures with the mangaka concerned and try to tackle the problem, but there are so many heartless people around that it is just impossible for us to tackle them all.
This is a plea to our readers. Illicit copies of manga harm manga culture, infringe the rights of mangaka, and most importantly of all they deeply wound the souls of mangaka. Please also understand that it is illegal.
From now on Shueisha will, in collaboration with mangaka, deal more harshly with any illegal copies circulating on the Internet.
We hope we can count on the unchanging support of all our readers in this endeavour.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I don't really care either way. Yes, I read scans, but I always buy my TPB once it's translated in my country.
Either way, chapter 306 is 16 pages of Crowning Moment Of Awesome. Seriously.

Gon just sacrificed his ability to use Nen forever? So what will happen for the rest of the series? Will a Nen remover like Hina be able to restore Gon's ability to use Nen?

Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.what the... that was interesting
Wow. So if I understand correctly, Gon Just sacrificed his ability to use Nen so he could Curb stomp Pitou out of existence.
That's... wow. That's a rather major development, isn't it?
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."I think it's exactly as it reads. I mean, his appearance changed rather drastically, as proven with his tight clothes, it's not just an effect of his aura or whatever.
Fridge Brilliance: So that was what the narrator meant by "The final battle".
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.it seems like it would be awfully hard to continue the series after that. Maybe Togashi has gotten sick of the manga after all. Is he going to rush Gon's father over right after for a resolution of the central arc?
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.Hisoka is going to be a Sad Clown
the artwork is... not good
It's rough and sketchy, but I couldn't help wondering if it was done that way on purpose to convey a primordial impression.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.It can't end this way. There are so many loose ends and storylines left unresolved. If Togashi gives his best series yet a Gecko Ending I will seriously fly over to Japan and murder him.

Yu Yu Hakusho says hi!
http://lockescans.blogspot.com - My Air Master scanlation projectWell I personally like Hunter X Hunter better than Yuu Yuu Hakusho. For various reasons. But of course YMMV.
I believe Locke's point was Togashi has a history of ending series abruptly. Something tells me this won't be the end though. Far too many loose ends, and in this sort of situation, it could only be a Downer Ending. Or at least a bittersweet one.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."I was referring to the abrupt ending, yes (although personally I liked YYH better, although that might change is most/all the lose ends get tied up eventually).
http://lockescans.blogspot.com - My Air Master scanlation projectUnmarked spoiler time! I don't think the series is ending soon; Gon just needs to find a Nen remover to restore his powers, just like Chrollo Lucifer.
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.Maybe. Power burnout isn't really the same thing as having someone else slap a seal on your powers.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Problem is; losing his nen forever seems like an absolute requirement for his power to be unleashed, in the same way that that guy had to cut off his fingertips and how Kurapica had to restrain his targets to the geineiryodan only. In Kuroro's case, a nen remover would work since all he needs to do is remove Kurapica's nen from him. But Gon is different, losing his nen is part of his ability - is what makes his ability work.
According to Pitou anyway.
Of course, if a Nen remover is all he needs, they're in luck, since Hina's still lurking around.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."Also that guy from the Greed Island arc.
Yeah, but that guy is nowhere near their current location, and they have no way of contacting him. While Hina is in the area and could easily be coerced into helping them.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."
...My god. We all knew that Gon was getting scary, but this... it's a Superpowered Evil Side without the outside influence.
Oh, and Pitou's brought out a new doll. Presumably, this one helps him in direct combat.
One last thing: The tagline claims that this is the final battle. How is the plot anywhere near to being resolved right now?
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."
