Yeah, Pyros are pretty beastly in lower level play.

I just spent a Nucleus KOTH game using the ultimate Demo loadout: Booties, Turner, Caber. Why anyone ever uses anything else is beyond me.

I love the eyelander too much. Who uses explosives? Not me.

And if you ever need anything, feel free to add me here (that goes for anyone. Just make sure to drop me a comment saying who you are if you do add me).

Got back to playing this game after fuck knows how long.

Gonna practice on other classes, since I neglected a lot of them before. Back then I just went a gunslinger engineer, medic or Soldier

@mort: Every team needs a good medic, so if your team doesn't have one, and you're in the mood to help, go medic.

This week's shenanigans:

Got a 10 kill streak as a Soldier, went to spawn to admire the eye effect, immediately lost it upon exiting to a mere Backscatter Scout. The next life I built a new killstreak built entirely out of kills of that Scout, taunting after kill every time. Was it mean? Probably. But it felt good.

Went Fists of Steel BLU Heavy in another round, but my game was lagging badly and making it difficult for me to attack. I ended up encountering a RED Soldier-Medic pair, but my lag prevented them from landing any hit on me. They took so long trying to attack me that my team ended up stealing the intel, bringing it to our base, and finishing off the two of them in process. The chat then had responses from RED team of "Lag heavy is too powerful", "lag is love, lag is life", and "Valve plz nerf lag heavy".

\\ It's probably just my imagination, but does the Back Scatter seem slower than the rest of the scatterguns to anyone else?

Slower firing rate? It does kind of feel slower.

It feels slower because you have to reload it more.

Probably. Doesn't feel that way with the Baby Face's Blaster, though. Question, do you guys usually have auto-reload on?

man, every time I try to enjoy TF 2 again I get slapped in the face with how ridiculously overpowered the soldier and demo are.

Overpowered in what sense? Do you main engineer, or sniper or spy, or something...? There are several ways to frustrate them. I like going demoknight if the enemy team is spamming explosives, and oft times the result is hilarious and more importantly, fun.

Soldiers and demos aren't really that overpowered in pubs. There's plenty of ways to deal with them.

Given that you can interrupt it does Auto-Reload actually have any downsides?

Unless you're using the Scout's Force-A-Nature or Soda Popper (because if you reload with a bullet still in the clip, it's lost), you should have auto-reload on at all times.

There's so much ammo in tf2 that that's almost never relevant.

I'm constantly manually reloading anyway, so I just leave auto-reload off so that it doesn't distract me.

I always use auto-reload, though I do I feel like a big downside is that the reloading animation for some classes really gets in my field of vision. Especially for Spy, who practically kisses the gun before aiming again.

Demos are definitely OP on pubs. Soliders, eh, not so much - they're definitely a friendly class to play as, so it's easy to be effective with them, but I wouldn't say OP. Demos though. Demos still need a nerf that actually works on them, and in some way that doesn't completely throw the 6v6 community into a major baby pissfit.

I find that Demos' only real weakness (in pubs, at least, which is all I play) is that a lack of hitscan or direct-impact (ie rocket launcher) weapons makes them vulnerable to Scouts.

In closed areas, not so much. I have found that if a demo is annoying me too much, I can go either Soldier, or Demoknight to annoy him back twicefold. 'less his GL aim is inhumane, soldier's rocket jumping givs him greater mobility over his stickies.

As someone who mains Engie, Demos are the most annoying class for me. All the other classes I at least have a chance against, but Demos... My main reaction to seeing stickies anywhere near my sentry (no matter what type of sentry it is) is to run like hell. And then set up somewhere else once they've destroyed my gear. I just can't remove stickies fast enough before they take out my sentries. Seriously Valve, why did you get rid of that nerf!

But then they nerfed the fire rate.

Honestly, there's counters, and then there's hard-counters, and then there's "If one sees the other, the first one can basically only run and pray."

Guess where the Demo falls in that scale?
