The Spy with an ax in Antarctica reminds me of the The Thing fro some reason. Granted, then you'd really want a Pyro to be around.

Speaking of Spies, I got my first Shooting The Breeze-achievement today.  ^*

My favourite way of killing fellow Snipers is now shooting their knee-caps. Seriously. I find a place where I can see their legs (because then they usually don't see me), charge up the Scope and blast their knee-caps off. One-Hit Kill Bodyshot.

It was a pyro with an axe actually. THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM HIS FIRE

I want an axtinguisher. And a wrangler. These are, like...the only items I'm still missing. /r/ engineer achievement servers. :c

^^Was it a regular axe or axetinguisher? I like the axetinguisher, because in my opinion it replaces the instant crits of the backburner while keeping the usefulness of the compression blast.

Man, my internet has been on and off all day! It's getting annoying.

I like the Axtinguisher, but I'll admit it takes skill to use. Don't need to be directly behind someone like with the Backburner, but you do have to be right next to the fucker, which means he probably knows you're there, and will kill you.

Hell, since the nerf to fire, it takes forever to kill people anyway, they will know where you are. I cannot tell you how many times I've snuck up behind a heavy and tried to flame him to death, only for him to turn around and shoot me in the face. HEAVIES WONT DIE!!!

Fuck, I know. Fire does practically nothing now, and if you kill anyone with the afterburn, it's sheer luck.

I've been killed by a Scout at point blank with two shots of the FAN. I've been killed from mid-range by a Scout with three shots of the Scattergun, while I was at full health.

I've seen a Heavy take me down with less than one second of concentrated minigun fire.

Level 3 Sentries. That is all.

So why the fuck can't the Pyro do anywhere near that much damage, that quickly, despite being an attack class?

Oh god, I hate it when you're playing engie, and you've got like 20 kills, and then an uber-charged heavie comes and kills both you AND your sentry.

I hate that just because the community whines so much, Valve has decided that the pyro is waaaay OP, even though it was perfectly balanced before! People just get pissed when they die, and the pyro especially cause soldiers and demos would kill themselves trying to fight pyros. Also, BUFFING THE BACKBURNER BY NERFING THE REGULAR FLAMETHROWER IS NOT A GOOD PLAN! This similar to "It can't crit, so it's balanced." Just awful. /rant.

P.S. Why the FUCK does a wooden shield reduce FIRE damage!?!

@rumetzen Such is the life of the engineer. This is why the frontier justice is quite nice. Although, in that situation, the uber heavy would destroy you with the sentry.

That's why I run like fuck when I see an uber coming. Hell, with the Frontier Justice, there's no reason not to.

I'm gonna go cry in my corner now, weeping at what has happened to the pyro.

I know this one chick who plays Pyro, but refuses to use anything but the Fireax and nothing else 90% of the time.

And it works.

Arguably, better than the flamethrower. Fucking nerfs.

Don Newman makes that axe look absolutely broken in the face. He isn't called "The Red Knight" for nothing.

Don Newman frequently was (maybes still goes) on a sever I occasionally go to, ATF Humpholics Anonymous. It shocked us that he was playing scout, he didn't give up pyroing all together either, but still.

Pyro really did get a nerfing huh? Well at least that means I probably wasn't sucking more then. Now more than ever I have to rely on ambushing opponents, but you can only go so far. Some matches it feels like I'd be better off just using my flare to pick-off enemies than go at them with the flamer.

I'm looking at you Pipeline.

Wait, who said bots don't play sniper? They did for me.

Plus, Engie bots camp in some of the most annoying places.

I used to play pyro as a secondary, but it's getting out of control now. Spy and Sniper are my other mainly used classes, so it's not like it's a problem though. Shame that offline matches are so easy when you play Spy...

About Pyro inconsistency: why does airblast extinguish teammates? Wouldn't it just increase the fire?

BTW, anyone else misses an in-game explanation of the Alien Swarm Parasite hat? At least the Sam & Max one had a little description, but this one doesn't...

And I agree: It takes forever to kill people with fire now, so being a Pyro is mostly pointless

I hate it when you're sniping in the 2fort battlements, and then a spy just jumps across and kills you. There was one guy, he kept beating people to death with THE SANDMAN. Motherfucker.

I've just discovered what might be the most satisfying experience as a Sniper on Hydro.

Dominating an enemy Spy.

I am so jealous of all of you. And my brother. When I get this game, I will get all the weapons.
