I'm getting the impression that proving that your "confession" was coerced from you by the police is far more difficult than in the Western world.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. Please don't go wild with your accusations. I said nothing about RK's author. I have no opinion on the man. I merely commented on the Japanese legal system in response to people praising it.
Anyway, Trivialis, it doesn't end up working like that, which is why Japan has such an incredibly high conviction rate. Or part of the reason. They like to brag about it but it's an inflated statistic, to put it nicely.

Its Guilty Until Proven Innocent in japan and even if they are found innocent, which is only a 1% chance, its basically just avoiding jail time as your life and everything about it is completely ruined in every way.
Anyway, Kaiji is pretty good. Nearly done with the first series. I've heard good things about Erased and I'll give that one a shot once it hits Netflix next month.
Tried watching Black Clover. I got about until the point where I found myself asking "Why is he screaming at a nun?" and noped out of it.
The dub is better I hear. Less AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Anyone here think that there's a writers club of sorts in japan, not just among anime and manga writers, but game writers too?
a lot of people within all 3 industries have strong ties with each other (Kazutaka Kodaka, Kotaro Uchikoshi and Yoko Taro are all good friends, just to name some examples that are multi media based writers)

Watch SymphogearType Moon as of now
Moon
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. The Erased that will be on Netflix is going to be the Live Action Drama, not the anime.
The sub is on Crunchyroll and the dub is on Hulu.
About Urusei Yatsura... I have to say that despite its inventive comedy, I find the manga just about unreadable. Partly it's the art, mostly it's the entirely unlikeable cast (and it doesn't help that all three have become clichés worn into the ground by now).
I find the early animated episodes easier, they were directed by Mamoru Oshii of all people and this shows in the mechanical designs and constant appearance of the military, but it still runs into the same "why should I care?" problem. Especially because I don't get why Ataru so hates Lum. Put on rubber gloves and hug her.
Whereas I can go through To Love-ru fine, though I would never say it has any artistic merit beyond the art. I don't like how Rito is forced into bland inoffensiveness, but there are enough good characters like Yami, Nemesis and especially Momioka to make it up. Even at its worst (by which I mean endless chapters focused on Momo's hopeless gambit) it has a pleasant feel that I don't get from Rumiko Takahashi's work.
Also, Haiyore! Nyarko-San is UY with the sexual dynamic reversed, and now we're talking. Unruly girl X tsundere boy is the pairing to rule them all.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.Rito is forced into more than that. Accidental Pervert might as well be his real name. It's pretty ridiculous the lengths they go to the force that shit.
One Strip! One Strip!God i wish they would localize the L Ns. I'm assuming it's all done.
Release second season on regular bluray please
RIP Miyu Matsuki
The MC of Urusei Yatsura, Ataru, is even more generic than Yuuki of To Love RU... Literally his only trait is he has bad luck, something that Yuuki shares. The only thing really special about the series is its switch of primary heroine mid way through cause the fans like Lum more than Shinobu.
Rumiko Takahashi hadn't refined her artwork yet and drew it like those way too busy gag mangas and was nigh unreadable at points with so many unnessary and barely built characters. While To Love RU has some of the best art in all of manga and focus on almost all of the cast.
Basically Seinfeld Is Unfunny at its best.
Ngl, To Love Ru interests me because it's basically softcore porn
Can't believe that's getting released stateside and presumably without censorship
Or really betting it will but idk, if Akame ga Kill didn't get censored
But again sex stuff
I love the focus Momo got in Darkness. Wish it didn't have to come at the expense of Lala though.
I feel like posting this on all the animation forums.
I very much agree with the guy. He and Callum May of the Canipa Effect would get along very well.
Watch SymphogearI know Polygon is a studio doing primarily CGI but is it the only one?
I know ufo does CGI in its Fate works and the HF movie was a great demonstration of it
So Girlish Number and Flip Flappers got silently pulled from Crunchyroll today. The fact that they're both Sentai titles makes me wonder if this is the beginning of things to come.
What's going on with Sentai then?
They got some type of arrangement with Amazon. They put majority of their simulcasts exclusively on Anime Strike.
Ah, I get it now.
So negative consequence of more competition on the anime market?
There's definitely pros/cons of Sentai pulling from CR and putting the majority of it on Strike.
On the pro-side, the competition is definitely necessary. It was definitely convenient when Crunchyroll was the only major player around but the side effect of that was the company had a habit of resting on the laurels. HTML 5 Player is no where in sight, major bugs in some of their apps, the whole video quality debacle. CR now having major competition in both Amazon and Netflix will force them to up their game.
On the con side the big thing that makes people apprehensive over Strike is it being a Subscription Service that also requires you to pay for Amazon Prime. That and they're repeatedly late with their simulcasts, so Strike leaves much to be desired. It's essentially the most expensive of all the streaming services, so a lot of people have just opted to pirate rather than pay it.

That's pretty much an excellent summation of the situation.
I'm suprised so many anime fans want everything on the same service. I guess we as a group prioritise convenience over cost, but for me the Crunchyroll player is just a nightmare.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"
@Arha
That's... really stupid. Aren't forced confessions supposed to be illegal? And if a confession comes to court and the defendant brings up that it was forced, it would be nullified.
