While I don't want to do a double post, interesting news has come up:

Someone is releasing an English version of one of the most famous magical girl anime, Magical Princess Minky Momo. It's on Amazon, it's done as a compilation film...

But most interestingly, it is apparently taken from a long-lost dub from the early 80s done by Harmony Gold (under the title The Magical World of Gigi). You never thought it'd happen, but...

I wonder how they got a hold of it.

ESPECIALLY from Harmony Gold, who has a "If we can't use it, YOU can't have it. Ever." attitude.

Do they know about this?

The company is apparently working with the studio that made the original anime. Presumably the rights expired and they have copies of the dub.

Watching Tiger And Bunny. In the first episode I decided that Dragon Frog Girl and the Origami Photobomber were best heroes... so of course they proceed to show up never again.

Also every time Barnaby's Dark and Troubled Past comes up I want to cry "my parents are deeeeead!!"

Trust me, Barnaby's dark and troubled past isn't what you think it is.

You'll understand why close to the end of the show..

I do love a good plot twist.

Some happier news from the Chinese ACG.

WIT Studio is adapting a manhua into a movie.

An unknown studio (from the blurry image, looks like WIT Studio) is adapting a Chinese game into an anime series.

WIT Studio is busy these days.

Edit: actually, they are talking to WIT Studio about it. Maybe it will become an anime, since the particular games are very popular in Japan.

Well, it's somewhat common, really. One-gender schools usually have trouble finding members of the opposite gender when they go co-ed.

He needed to have this playing the moment he walked in the door:

Someone should chronicle his life and make a harem deconstruction out of it.

Magazines should write profiles of him and all his admirers.

His autobiography should be titled, "I Cannot Believe That All The Girls Gave Me A Standing Ovation When I First Entered This School!"

Imagining the situations leads me into anti-joke territory. He trips and falls onto a girl, he apologises and walks away.

Someone on 4chan once suggested a harem show where everyone is aware of having to keep the dumb shenanigans going or their show will be cancelled. A girl has her skirt torn off and she goes "had to happen". Then catches herself and tells the boy he's a pervert and half-heartedly screams.

I think single-sex schools are an abomination, but this incident is being fetishised in a rather silly way.

I just think the whole thing is hilarious.
