I am reading Choku now and it is great
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.Read and reviewed the first volume of Voice Over! Seiyu Academ by the same mangaka as S*A. Short version: Kind of generic. Long version: http://www.skjam.com/2013/09/26/manga-review-voice-over-seiyu-academy-1/
And don't forget that I have a book giveaway contest running until 9/30/13!
@Marq Wouldn't we all.
Magi dub cast! (not mentioned on ANN — Keith Silverstein as Masrur)
Okay, wow.
This is one of the most amusin anime related images I've seen my whole life.◊
I really wish I was there when he watched Strike Witches.

He's such a cool man, in so many ways.
Chuck Yeager was actually the candidate for the first man in the sky, but his academic records wasn't good enough (apparently you need a Ph.D or something).
Imagine how Strike Witches would have turned out if he did went to space.

So apparently, there's a new anime coming out titled Walkure Romanze, about an Improbably Female Cast, a highschool setting, and horse(wo)manship (which, in this story, also involves armored knight-style jousting). Plus, the female lead's stallion is apparently somewhat unruly, but in more a "naughty kid" type of unruly, in that he has a habit of bite-pulling at girls' skirts, typically until he strips them of them.
Yeah, it's almost certainly going to be a fanservice vehicle, especially given the sneak pics of the first episode on Sankaku Complex. The art style quality is amazing, though.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.@Sankaku Complex So in other words the fanservice will be tame.

It's out. Airs on Sundays
And, yeah, from what I hear the fanservice is fairly moderate
Yes. It's a Crunchyroll simulcast. And being subbed by Anime-Koi if that doesn't work for you
Crunchyroll is a no-go for Saudi Arabia, last time I checked.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Isaac Asimov's Foundation series gets a manga
-squee-
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.Whoah, either that series is more popular in Japan than I expected, or it had the luck of getting a dedicated fan in the form of this manga's author.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Depends on the series. They do get a "worldwide outside of Japan" license every so often.
Has the Foundation manga been scanlated yet? It looks interesting, but I can't find it.
Does anyone here like Rinne no Lagrange more than Symphogear? At least, comparing their first seasons. I feel like I'm one of the few people who holds this opinion, but I've run into several people who hold the opposite.
(This isn't to say I dislike Symphogear; it's nice, and has a fuckton of catchy tunes, but I just think it's got a less coherent tone and feels than Lagrange does.)

Season 1: Lagrange >= Symphogear
Season 2: Symphogear >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lagrange
Honestly, for both shows, the first seasons felt incomplete and a bit rushed, though that was a deliberate storytelling tactic for Lagrange. Symphogear only loses based on season 1 for me due to the much lower production values.

That might explain it; I've only watched the first seasons but the three people who disagreed with me have watched both seasons of each show.
Though I still seem to hold some other unorthodox views, such as feeling that Lagrange s1 stands fine by itself, and that the only animation problem I felt with Symphogear was that it was a bit choppy. I did feel both were a bit rushed, Symphogear more so.

Apparently we'll be getting translated weekly samurai manga for free at this site starting on the 25th
...I'm not sure why

Lagrange was a split-cour that was specifically written to end with the second half. As a result, season 1 had an ending that was made to feel as if the story had ended suddenly, with a portion of things missing, because that's exactly what happened, so the second half cleaned things up and concluded solidly. Overall, good show.
As for Symphogear, season 1 was written without regard for episode count, so they had to squeeze things down to fit into 13, plus the production values were extremely low due to a lack of confidence. The story kind of just... ended. And with a variant of And the Adventure Continues, to make it worse. Then season 2 built upon it and made what could be taken as a grand finale, cleaning up most remaining plot points like the Gungnir in Hibiki's chest that's fusing with her, and the threat of the Noise, while leaving room for a season 3 if sales go well (and sales did go well). Not to mention that season 2 was a fun ride, covered in plot twists.
Eh, any expansion in legal digital manga is a positive in my book.
