Basically, some weird evangelical cult in India using some of NGE's symbols and names. They call themselves NERV Ministries and preach Jesus' Second Impact is nigh. Also, their goal is the Human Instrumentality Project.

That continent is huge and full of people, and religion is eclectic.

About the Indian church, I don't know exaclty to what extent they're aware of the whole "faith based on a cartoon" thing. The CHURCHOFNERV YT account did comment on an Eva AMV.

In a perfect world, people wouldn't care either way and just accept the idea of talking about the franchise as a whole.

This thread is indeed for whole-series discussion. But there IS a Rebuild thread which I feel should be utilized in this situation, and which it currently is.

I for one am coming here as a sanctuary to avoid spoiling any more plot points of 3.0. If you guys want to discuss it here, fine. But all I'm saying is that there's all that jazz happening in the Rebuild thread at the moment.

Yeah, I'm completely avoiding the Rebuild thread and all updates to the NGE and Rebuild trope pages until 3.0 comes out on Blu Ray...I'm already partially spoiled.

I'd say the worst thing is that the people at 4chan basically spammed the Other Wiki entry and spoiled the entire thing there. It's like you can't even google Rebuild 3.0 without the first link being a spoiler....

So, uhh... How long did it take Funimation to license 1.0 and 2.0? It may provide insight into how long they'll be this time.

I watched the first few minutes of the dub for the EVERY SINGLE HIT THE TARGET AAAAAAAAAH meme though.

Heh, I love that.

Looking back, the original series was pretty Narmish. But Spike has done an insanely awesome job with Rebuild so far: The scene atop the NERV pyramid is incredible, and when he comes back to fight Zeruel... major props.

Yeah, before I couldn't stand Spike Spencer as Shinji. He made him come off as very whiny and unlikable. Now though, he has earned my full approval.

Still not as good as Megumi Ogata though.

Yeah, her screams are the best screams.

I could take that in a very creepy direction.

I don't think any context you can imagine can be creepier than those provided by the show (and its production).

The only thing stopping me from proving you wrong is fear of getting banned.

You can't prove me wrong, since being creeped out is a subjective feeling. Even if I were more creeped out by whatever you have in mind than by what the show provides, I could deny it, and you would never know I was lying. So please drop it.

Also can't stand Spike's Shinji in the original series... and haven't seen Rebuild yet, waiting until all the Rebuild movies come out before I start watching them.
