I'd disagree with that

like a lot

because there are a whole lot of small details and themes that are brought up/made clear/elaborated upon in the middle-last parts of the series that are really really well-thought and genius

now i will admit that it has it's fair share of flaws, but it only gets more satisfying in regards to themes and plot elements as it goes on.

@Bocaj: I'm nearing the end of The Eleventh Hour arc, which is really good by the way. It gets really emotional too.

As far as anime goes, I've been following Flip Flappers. I'm liking the adventures into different types of gorgeous worlds, like Mad Max: Yuri Road or Indie Horror Game Highschool.

@Snapchats: What a great plan with no downsides.

I also remember Mousa showing up for the finale.

Also, I've now read six volumes of My Hero Academia. It's fun, and I think it's pretty good at being what it wants to be. Forget if I mentioned this back when I had read five? Oh well.

And I do like Tsuyu, the promised frog girl, a lot. So that's fun.

Also, I'm starting on the A Certain Magical Index light novels after reading the A Certain Scientific Railgun manga after watching the A Certain Scientific Railgun and A Certain Magical Index animes.

I've consumed a few bits of the series in various forms three times already and I'm still geared up for a fourth?

I may be kind of obsessive, about things I like.

Also read Strata, which was interesting. Slowly closing in on the few things by Terry Pratchett I haven't read yet.

On the Snapchats: Haha, what.

Huh, I guess I forgot whether or not he came back. Ah well.

Fate Zero is great. It's one of those animes that has so many good aspects to it presentation-wise. I loved the characters, loved the animation, and loved the Dub. Though I do have to agree with Bocaj in that it's got some sad flaws and of them the Lancelot thing isn't explained too well in the anime by itself, I needed to read up on the backstory via the wiki. Gonna watch UBW soon. So Karkat The Dalek: Who's your favorite character so far?

Right now I'm watching One-Punch Man... Finally. Both the Sub and Dub are really good. I love all the Shout Outs in it.

I'm almost done with Rurouni Kenshin. It's good. Excellent "classic" anime. Especially season 2. Season 2 just takes so many of the good elements in it and brings them to great heights. The villain especially is excellent. Season 3 sucks. It's just tedious filler with silly looking Germans and a weird arc about Christians that can't really sustain itself. It's a shame because season 2 was so amazing.

The live-action movies are great too. I never thought so much story could be condensed and changed so much and yet work so well.

I've always described Fate/Zero as a train crash. Horrifying and yet... you can't look away.

Good, people keep telling me it's the lame kind of bad instead of the interesting kind of bad. I think they're just salty over UBW getting a better adaptation than Fate.

Zero is basically an unending parade of misery. And Iskander.

And seven episodes in, Unlimited Blade Works feels painfully generic.

You have all the seriousness and misery of the Grail War and then cut to Waver and Rider being magic bros

@Bocaj: Yeah, Zero is a tragedy in the classic sense. People try as they might but are ultimately undone by their own personal limitations, Madoka style.

UBW I'm less hyped for. I can smell too many annoying anime tropes.

I don't know how popular this pick is but I think my favorite character arc in FZ is Kirei's, or maybe Kiritsugu's, but that one's an obvious pick. Really, they're all great

I like how One and only one master benefits in any way from the war. The rest either die, have their ideals crushed to bits, or falls to the Dark Side.

Well, you guys are certainly selling Fate/Zero to me. I'll probably check it out, but first I need to finish Kill la Kill, then watch Nozaki-Kun and ERASED.

So Karkat The Dalek: Who's your favorite character so far?

Hard to say - it's a little early for this. I've spoiled myself somewhat, so I think I'll probably like quite a few of the Servants, but they've only just arrived, so...

Kiritsugu I'm interested in, although his backstory leaves me cautious - I want to learn more about him and Irisviel, but something about the two of them just screams "Manpain!"

Tokiomi and Kirei are rather bland at the moment, and to be honest, I don't really understand what their deal is. That said, the utmost confidence that Tokiomi has in their victory once he's summoned his servant intrigues me somewhat - this will no doubt end well for him.

That Kayneth guy is an asshole. I have nothing more to say about him. I hope he dies.

Waver's a smart kid, and I admire that. But I think he's very shifty, so I don't trust him.

I peeked at the missing guy - I doubt I'm going to like him much.

So that leaves...Kariya, I think. Yeah, he's definitely my favorite. A dying man trying to save his niece from a horrible fate - I can get behind that.

(Somewhat disappointed that there are no female masters - it's kind of a sausage fest here. Oh well - at least there's you-know-who, so we'll see how she performs...)

Anyway, I have a question - sub or dub here?

@Karkat: Oh, I thought you'd already started watching. Whoops. And I watched the Dub, it's a solid dub, great VA's, especially Iskander's.

Kari Wahlgren is a good Saber and Crispin Freeman is an also good Kirei.

And I love Kayneth, there's such a dipshittery asshole quality to him that's delicious. Sure he's not the worst person of the part, but I love how he's just a bastard. It's sad that his fiancé takes over for a bit. She's just not to the depths of terribleness that Kayneth has, and the fact that she's just acting under Lancer's mark just makes her so much less interesting.

I've been watching the sub, though.

I could have watched dub, but everything else I've been watching, I've watched the sub. It would feel weird to switch now, especially since I've already seen the first episode - 45+ minutes isn't really something I want to go through again.

Yeah, sure then. The sub's probably great to. That opening though... I had to look up some Trope's pages just to make sense of it all. Way too much to take in.

I have a hard time someone other than Crispin Freeman as Kirei Kotomine, his voice is just perfect

...I'm going to have to think about this one, aren't I?

Anyway, I've finished all of Kill la Kill, including the OVA. A pretty good series, if I might say so myself. I do think some things were a matter of...questionable taste, but overall I enjoyed it quite a bit.
