Just gonna get an official opinion on this before I make a fool of myself by posting it myself:

Would it be too too meta if I signed up as Deadpool from the new film...still as Ryan Reynolds?

I've spent a great deal of money to go, so I'm not taking any chances of possible mistakes.

I think Deadpool is generally seen as too meta, full stop. But that's just what I've observed.

Too meta? No. Too annoying? Definitely.

I was tempted at one point in season 2 to play Eclipse as Caliborn, and talk to him myself via a terminal in his room.

Not a GM but Deadpool's whole thing is Meta. That doesn't typically work in an RP environment.

Actually meta can work in an RP enviroment if it's pulled off correctly.

I'm currently in an RP with at least 6 "meta" characters and they work just fine.

I was trying to figure out some nitty gritty details about Toph's personality, seeing as I want to play with the contrast between her younger self in S2 and her now grownup self in S3 (fun fact: the original idea for this can be traced all the way back to 2012, when Chabal actually pointed out how funny it is that 'screw the establishment' Toph grew into the police chief, and made me want to explore that).

So I got together with OG-Sama and wrote this short thing. I'm really proud of it. Enjoy(?)

Sssecond Deadpool question:

If I were to sign up as him for Renaissance, would I be able to fudge the whole canon/non-canon thing? Like, his most recent (probably only) film debuts have both been completely different not only to each other, but to the actual Deadpool canon from all of the comics. I don't even think the powers work the same in the Film/Deadpool movie - in the comics, can't he only reattach bodyparts, not grow new ones?

Despite the fact that the Deadpool film officially takes place in an alternate universe of the canon Marvel Universe, it's considered a canon universe in itself. Just like Ultimate Marvel, the MCU, and all other Marvel movie and TV adaptations. So, he wouldn't fit Renaissance.

Besides that, his only superpowers, his fourth wall awareness and his regeneration, would be heavily nerfed.

We should do an Idol competition in Nemesis.

Can we not? That makes 0 sense for like half the cast.

Yeah, torching the host will get old real quick.

I guess that's the easy bit done.

I mean I guess the only reason I'm not throwing her at Nemesis is because she's got abilities and stuff there she never had in game, so...

I think wrestlin' matches could be fun.

If WWE is a little too cliche for a wrestling challenge, I'd say Lucha Underground is our best bet. If you want over-the-top crazy, LU has a nunchuk-wielding dragon, a flying time-traveling alien, a teleporting ghost who leads four zombies around with a magic rock, a ninja who likes to break people's arms...you get the idea.

I like the idea of a wrestling challenge, but I'm not in Nemesis.

Although in the other two games, neither of my dudes are exactly practical choices for wrestlers....

Okay, as I feel the implication behind it isn't clear enough, I'm going to clarify it here:

In general, when I (I don't know about Lem) am handing out the nerf "Does not work on P Cs and Major NP Cs", it's not actually a hard and fast nerf. If the other player or GM agrees to that power being used on their PC or Major NPC, then it's totally fine.

This also means that any power with that nerf cannot be used as a "Find the important person" power. Just in case you wanna try that.

What about attacking NPCs randomly and seeing who manages to survive?

Quick question. Would a bad ending that is depicted in the original material count as an AU?

Was it subjected to Cutting Off the Branches by a later work in the same continuity?
