Yup, gas masks.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.US Army a promask is always a gasmask.
I remember a time I was in line at the Fort Bliss food court. There was a solider in the 14R (Linebacker) class back there who was a complete meathead. He did something stupid (dropped his hotdog as I remember and trying to do the 5 second rule) and I laughed and said something pithy. This older dude starts laughing and I introduce myself as a young AIT female and the older man introduces himself as the AIR DEFENSE SCHOOL DEPUTY COMMANDER.
My battle buddy told me that I became the post pale Mexican she'd ever seen.
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Neat clip of US Marines breaching through obstacles with explosives.

Who watches the watchmen?Thought "breach like a Marine" could be summed up by that video of the guy dropkicking a door and landing on his ass.
EDIT: And on rewatch I realise the goons in the dropkick video are Army.

"Yup. That tasted purple."The term "blanket man" could be misinterpreted by somebody who isn't in the know...
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.Hah, that's great.

How China Plans to Win a War in the South China Sea
Well now. Apparently there have been more ship collisions than I knew about, and shit's hitting the fan. I'm probably really late to this news too.

Chinese state news channel CCTV apprently showed a bunch of Chinese militias fighting with the SDF in Syria.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleThanks to Boeing being opportunistic, hypocritical (an American arms corp bitching about subsidies is hilarious) pricks, and Cheeto being himself, Canada's plans to replace its Hornet fleet is on indefinite hold.

Maybe we should bite the bullet and grab a European model. Dassault and Eurofighter (even Saab if we get desperate/cheap, and the Grippen E turns out okay) sound like more reliable partners, and in this environment the compatibility shift might be worth tanking.
Hell, even the F-35A would be an option, if both major federal parties hadn't shit the bed and made it politically toxic.
And the worst part is that you can't have any discussion about this in Canada without some nostalgic tool seriously saying that we should revive the Avro Arrow...
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. For the Avenger SAM system, what do the designations "AN" and "TWQ" mean?
Hey, Saab is a fine company. I have friends working there.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Saab is cool, I just have doubts about the Gripen E's price (only Sweden and Brazil have bought into it, and low production means higher costs), and its suitability for a country with NATO commitments and a large amount of air space to cover.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Hallow: It is the Joint Electronics Code for the system. The first part describes what it is meant to be used against. The Second part describes it as a combination armament mobile unit.
Who watches the watchmen?AN is Army-Navy, T is transportable, W is Armament, Q means special combo.
The designation system dates from World War Two and is called the Joint Electronics Type Designation System.

Who watches the watchmen? And the office copier/Xerox machine is an AN/FJH in that system if it was applied to office equipment...
At my first PATRIOT unit, we used to joke about spray painting an XBOX the lime-y green color used inside the van and having a shop outside the gate do up a phoney data plate for it as an "AN/XBX-1".

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48There's something quintessentially Swedish to me about Saab selling everything from cars to rocket launchers to fighter planes.
If it makes a buck, anything goes.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.För helvete. There's no telling if we will be buying Gripen.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleJapan and Korea off the same way with their brands. LG makes cell phones and air conditioners, Yamaha makes motorcycles and electric keyboards, Mitsubishi makes automobiles and fighter jets, etc.
In other news: America Trusts This Trans Soldier With Top Secrets. Trump Wants Him Fired.
Duterte is in talks with Indonesia and Malaysia. Among issues include forming a task force and allowing Indonesian/Malaysian soldiers to operate in Filipino territory in the context of chasing down terrorists.
I'm sure the pro-Sabah unificationists will take this very well.
What's so bad about lumping together Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines?

Protective Masks. Guessing they are gas masks. If not gas masks maybe dust masks.
