In a lot of cultures V * is religiously required, because there's little meat there. In America there's plenty meat. So why are V's, who hate religion (?) emulating religous beliefs of other places?

It's because cows eat plants, and plants are the prime contributor to pollution and global warming. Clearly.

Well actually beef farming is what is causing rainforest destruction, far more than the logging industry and cows produce a great deal of methane which accounts for about (I think) 10% (probably less) of global warming gasses.
He probably think simply killing all the cows will solve this problem.

A few days ago an otherwise smart person I just met attempted to thwart the terrible dangers of logic and rationality by insisting that holding a cell phone near me would influence the magnetism of my body, making me less able to do physical work. She tried this by pushing on my arm, first without then with the phone near me. While she did manage to move it a hell of a lot more the second time, the force exerted was entirely different, which could be easily deduced by her position as she was pushing on my arm. She insisted she'd applied the same energy. When I pointed out that a scientific experiment isn't scientific unless it uses fixed, measureable amounts of energy, she surprisingly enough didn't suggest attempting the experiment again with some sort of inanimate weight.

Real life example: I had a woman explain to me that humans weren't meant to eat meat or animal products and that humans used to live for centuries because they were vegans. Because the bible says so.
