Left 4 Dead

I notice it's yet to be mentioned that all of the maps from the original Left 4 Dead are going to be available on L 4 D 2 soon...

Bitchin'. Always wondered what Dead Air would be like with all the new foes and toys.

Is it just me, or is the guy playing Elis always the fucking butt monkey? Last time I was Elis, I literally was the only one who got smacked by Special Infected, and the next round when someone else was Elis, he got smacked by a Jockey and nearly tossed off a ledge.

I've noticed Nick to be the Butt-Monkey more often than not. But I think it differs for everyone.

Ellis is the Butt Monkey in the opening cinematic, most definitely.

As far as gameplay, Louis was the Butt Monkey in the original; I dunno if the Hunters were just racist, or if it was a personal thing, but it seemed like every time someone was playing as Louis, the Hunter would invariably pounce on him.

The Cold Stream beta was made available today.

Pretty interesting. The third part is quite difficult.

Why does everyone. Hate. Nick?!

Anyway, Left 4 Dead 2 is awesome. 'Nuff said.

When I saw this thread revived I was expecting to see something about a game update. Oh well.

Besides that. Seriously, he wears a suit! Suits are awesome!

Everyone always begs to be Nick or Ellis in my circle of Left 4 Deadites, but that's mainly because Coach is boring and Rochelle is.....urgh.

No one likes Rochelle because she's not a walking meme

Nah, I just dislike her because she insists on wearing those hoop earings during a zombie invasion. One bad zombie swipe and pop goes her ear.

Rochelle isn't a walking meme, but she's so...bland. She rarely comments on anything when I play and doesn't seem to have much dialogue with anyone else.

She has a lot of lines but the problem is that the game never uses them and when it's time for someone to talk, the game will make the guys speak first. If you were to go into the sound files for Rochelle (PC version obviously), you can hear a ton of interesting stuff that never gets used.

Left 4 Dead 2 in real life!

The resemblances are uncanny.

I wonder if they could do a patch to include more of her unused lines in gameplay?

No patch but there is an add on that addresses the issue

Oh god, the Cold Stream campaign is seriously tough.

I just noticed that judging by the cars, computers, and tech, both games seem to take place in The '90s.

No, in Dark Carnival, Ellis may mention having watched a Midnight Rider concert in 2007. Also in The Passing there is a sign saying some tunnel will open up in 2011.

Besides that it is indeed not so easy to see it's modern day, though in many of the office areas in both games there are many flat screen LCD monitors.
