"Goku wins" may as well be the tagline of Dragon Ball lol.

Dragon Ball is a series about strong dudes fighting stronger dudes. With the main character doing the brunt of the work while everyone else supports him.

That's the literal embodiment of the quinsential battle shine.

That'd be cool though.

New big bad evil dude shows up, all wanting to blew up the Earth one screaming city at a time because it's just not as fun if you do it all in one go.

In come Gohan to defend the people of Earth. He's just strong enough to hold the villain at bay for a little while, if by keeping his interest if nothing else.

B-Bed goes on about how Gohan is at his limit while he's barely tapped into his own power or some silly posturing. Gohan is like, "Yeah, I think I can hold you off just long enough."

"Long enough for wha-" B-Bed get's punched into a mountainside.

"That. Hi dad."

"Hi son! This guy seems tough!"

"He is, so you have fun with that. I'm gonna go help in the evacuation of this city."

I just realized that Goku's probably going to be reading the blurb next episode. I don't think he's ever read one before.

I wonder if they'll go for the easy gag and have him not know how to read?

Oh yeah, they didn't do the "Character who's about to die reads the title card" thing until Namek, did they?

Yeah. It's not always the character who's about to die; when no one dies, it's whoever gets shit on by the episode's events.

Goku's about to step up and lose against Cell, so the honor of reading the card will likely be his. I expect Android 16 to read it for the next episode, and then Cell for the inevitable thirty-minute finale.

Trunks will probably get one too.

Maybe one for the Cell Jr's as well? I don't know if they'll get voices.

Speaking of the Cell Jrs, I thought of a pretty neat way to introduce them. Lemme know what you think.

Kaiser's regular speaking voice is like an octave deeper than his "HEY GUYS!" voice.

It's strange.

I always enjoy getting to see the behinds the scenes videos for stuff I like. I wonder if we'll ever get to see ones of Lani, Kaiser, Masako, Taka and the others when they record. I'm curious who directs Kaiser when he records.

I actually think this exchange - and the execution of the entire Shin Kikouhou sequence - is one of the crowning accomplishments of the Abridged Series re: adapting the original. I remember a DBZ fansite or two treating Tenshinhan having done something in the Cell Saga to be a semi-obscure bit of trivia. It's pretty guaranteed that nobody forgets that it happened in DBZA, because it actually paid off Tenshinhan's characterization and Cell continuing to hate Tenshinhan in particular for it gives it meaning.
