And it's been marked as "illegal".
I have a message from another time...After playing the demo for a while, here's my thoughts on it in a nutshell:
It’s okay. The graphics are simply lovely, though it’s really hard to see Sonic at times. Pretty graphics aside, however, it’s just an improved version of Sonic 2, stuff I’ve seen before. Yes, I’m aware that’s the whole point of this fangame, but still…

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. And this game breeds Fan Dumb. They're already saying that Sega is the one who declared it illegal since they're supposedly "scared" of it (Like a giant company like SEGA would be scared of a fucking fangame).

"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-Wraith*clears throat*
Attention video game and video fans. Remix is a music term. That is all.
*bows and leaves*
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Words can change. I kinda like this use of "remix", it sounds cool, even if the etymology is based in music.

"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithYeah, the background looks way too busy. It's pretty, but it looks like it'd be hard to keep track of Sonic.
I have a message from another time...Chagen: They can.
Still, I don't like the term "Video Game Remix" because it doesn't make any sense to me, there's nothing to re-mix. Re make certainly...anyway, this is all horribly off topic. We now return to your regularly scheduled Sonic fan-related thing.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Why in the bloody heck are there Motobugs and totem poles in an Emerald Hill Zone remake?
... Huh. You're right.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!...I remember seeing the trailer for this and finding shit way too difficult to keep track of. I dunno. Maybe it's better when actually playing.
...What really bugs me is that, well...Komodin said he wished it wasn't being used as a tool for the Fan Dumb to attack Sega? Kotaku posted an article with the headline "Did Sonic Fans Just Release a Better Sonic the Hedgehog HD." The comments in that article made me want to give a pistol a blowjob.
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith....No website is safe from the Fan Dumb.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Eh, I don't see much of a point, the original Sonic 2 is still gorgeous to me to this day. If it was a brand new game, I'd be quite happy, but if it's just the same game with a new coat of paint...?
Yeah, I guess I'd rather just get Sonic 4.
Current project: Cleaning up the Chrono Crusade examples one at a time. God help me.I have to say, that article claiming that the fan remix was better and posting side-by-side screenshots actually made me like Sonic 4 better. Sonic 4's backgrounds looked more like real rocks and clouds; Sonic Fan Remix's rocks and clouds looked like shiny plastic, but they made up for this by cramming a bajillion things into the backgrounds.
Hmm, cramming more stuff into the shots... Congratulations, Sonic Fan Remix creators, you are now George Lucas.

Act 2 is supposedly original so the game has some new to it, though I'm hoping they go further than Sonic 2 HD + new act and more badniks. It's extremely pretty, kudos on the graphic design but way too busy as mentioned above. Also I'm hearing it's murder on your computer meaning unless you have a PC with A-tier gear you're going to get some serious lag. The physics are closer to Sonic 2 than Sonic 4(duh) but aren't perfect and have some glitches.
I'm really think they should do the scrapped stages for the final game(though I highly doubt this game will be finished) as complete zones so it'll feel fresh rather than just a rehash. There was a decent amount of cut material in the original Sonic 2, and if they truly want to due a remake that does it justice, they should probably add those as well. TBH I'd rather have that than just an added act.
Kotaku I usually love but they are only stepping on broken glass with an article like that, which means a lot of blood.

Huh, I don;t find the background distracting at all. In fact, I kinda like all the business.
"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithMore than a few times I hit Badniks while jumping that I couldn't even see until the explosion. That's a problem.
Acts 2 and 3 were short and unmemorable. I finished both in under a minute on the first runs. I guess that's only a problem for the Fan Dumb when Sega makes the games, though.
Yeah, trailer was hard to look at =/ Sure, it looks shiny, but still.
I think everyone is overlooking a few key points:
-This game was made by two people in the span of six months.
-This game will NOT be a verbatim remake of sonic 2, it will use and remix levels from sonics 1 through 3 (and possibly CD, I forget if he said it), thus the title remix.
-The levels are changed more than just the appearance; there is a fair amount of level layout changes, along with plenty of different object placement. The fact that EHZ has three acts (as opposed to two acts in sonic 2) is clear enough.
-It's made simply for the love of the series. One of the Co-developers has written an indepth guide on accurate sonic physics based purely on devotion to the games.
That's quite a big problem.
To be honest, I'm liking this mainly because its really pretty to look at.
Guys the demo I'm hearing is really good! But alas, I cannot get it to play :(
After playing both Sonic 4, and this remix, I have to say: Sonic 4 is utter crap and this game is ten times better. It sorta got C&D sadly, but it was worth it.
There comes a time when one must decide: should I set that on fire, or not?^Source please.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.
Dude, this looks freaking awesome
