I have to ask. How are they possibly gonna get a season 6 logically and more importantly... how on earth did sam get outta hell?
Hello again tropersI expect that Chuck was, in fact, God this whole time. Remember how hard Raphael tried to convince them that God was dead... Raphael was Chuck's guardian archangel.
Chuck is also Eric Kripke's Author Avatar, unless I miss my guess, so it kinda adds to the joke of the author being God.
I kinda liked the final confrontation; the entire series has had action, action, action, but this was the emotional core: a confrontation between brothers on multiple levels.
"The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules." - E. Gary GygaxRegarding Chuck, that's what I was wondering, and really the only thing that could explain him vanishing. I guess now we have to wait for Season 6 and... Word of God.
I'd like to believe that They were two distinct people, and God took the form of Chuck after Chuck ended life happily with Becky. Maybe.
I agree with Dracomicron on why this ending worked. I'd have liked a bit of a fight seen too, but in retrospect, we can get that anywhere, and what this show had/has is worth more than that.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyAlso, at the very least, any plot thread still dangling or character to be reintroduced (Kali, Jesse, to name a few) can still be addressed in season 6.
And it seems that by "better than ever", Castiel got a bit of a promotion to Archangel.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyRegarding Sam, how do we know that it's actually Sam, and not just Lucifer still possessing him? Remember, they said you could get him back in the "cage"...they said nothing about killing him or keeping him there.
EDIT: Note to self: Spoiler tag is case-sensitive.

Because God is God. Although I am fairly worried that the light flickering is not the effect of God using his powers, and actually a sign that Sam's a friendly ghost, or something. Also: Poor Adam, I guess?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyanyone ever notice that the actor that plays Adam is named Jake Abel? Talk about convenient casting!
The sad, REAL American dichotomyYes, it I! Uber obsessed fan who theorizes way too much.
This is the only way chuck == God could work. Plus, SPN loves that style of meta humor.
Betting that God is separate from Chuck as well, though I'm not sure what him having Chuck's form has to do with anything...
Going from the show's tendencies... God released both vessels. Sam is returned to earth (though still juiced up with Satan & demon blood powers) and Adam was returned to Heaven to finally be with his mom like he wanted.
Or the light flickering is the exact moment Sam popped back to earth and it was a bit of the interference (like the tree effect from Dean's & Adam's resurrections).
ign has a short article that states there will be a supernatural anime in the style of the early seasons. Being an anime, they can probably show more graphically. Hopefully if it gets brought to america, Jared and Jensen can reprise their roles.
I'm guessing it'll probably lose a lot of the regular style of humor, though.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy^ It could be interesting. There seems to be a bit of a retcon fight over the character of John Winchester so I'm curious as to which direction they go with him.
(I'm of the "bad ass but flawed human who did the best he could in a crapsack world" camp)
...sorry, Ive tried liking this show, I really did, but its just so ridiculously Crapsack World that its really hard to enjoy for me. Its not even crapsack enough to veer into parody like Warhammer.
I dont know why they let me out, I guess they needed a spare bedWhat eps did you watch? Of course we can't force you to like it, and it is absurdly Grimdark, but the meta episodes and Mood Whiplash comedy episodes do help.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyAny of the Trickster episodes (up to maybe the last) are great for taking the edge off the excessive angst of the overall show. The Hollywood episode, the Ghostfacers episodes, and the metafiction stuff with the in-universe Supernatural books (and associated spot-on Fan Dumb) are all hilarious.
"The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules." - E. Gary GygaxSo in the wake of what I call the first Series Finale, I'm rewatching starting from episode 1 (which I'd actually never seen until now). I shall be cataloging Fridge Logic and Fridge Brilliance moments. THOUGH I WILL TRY TO LEAVE THEM VAGUE, THERE IS SPOILER-TYPE INFO FOR PEOPLE STARTING THE SERIES
- Pilot: If only they'd made Brady the actual black friend that was in that episode. But alas, the guy they chose was too convincing of an asshole.
- Dead In The Water: Dean says he used to love army men. It was an army man that Dean rebuilt into the Impala that caused Sam to remember their childhood good times.
- Bloody Mary: Ah, the "I'm not going to let you die"'s begin, 5 episodes into the series. I wonder if we're going to hear of that again?
- Bugs: wow, what a totally BS Deus ex Machina ending. It's almost like they had angels watching over them.
- Home: first mention of crossroads - "crossroad dirt"
- Scarecrow:So this is my first time seeing this episode too. I guess that Meg was one of the many "guardian demons" like Brady. She just had to be a bit more proactive about her job.
- Faith: "you need to let me die". I wonder if we're ever going to hear these words again.
- Route 666: Establishes that some episodes suck. Also, sex scenes and romances aren't interesting, and don't work. And. some episodes really suck. Also, life before smartphones sure did suck. Like this episode.
- Nightmares: "As long as I'm around, nothing bad is going to happen to you." ...ah ha. a haha.
- Devil's Trap: Wow, exorcisms were exaggerated at first. Anyway, Dean said he'd go into hell and kick some demon ass. huh.
- First Aid Fail: you are never supposed to move an injured body unless they are in immediate danger. Just putting it here so the rest of you know.
Season as a whole: wow, I'd forgotten. Sam really does have anger and revenge issues. It wasn't just flanderization for later seasons.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI just had to separate this on. Vancouver Doubling / Did Not Do The Research fail in Hell House is ridiculous.
- Richardson, Texas does not look like that. almost nowhere in north Texas looks like that.
- Collin County Public Library? They got the county right, at least, but one library? where I'm at alone has over a dozen libraries in the city (of over 1/4 million population).
- A couple of hours away from Richardson could mean one hell of a lot, guys.
- Richardson is apparently Jensen Ackles' hometown. You'd think he could've corrected the writers a bit on that.
Edit: rewatching "Ghostfacers". Richardson is referred to by Sam as "west texas". God dammit. Sorry for the Cowboy BeBop at His Computer rage, but my Suspension of Disbelief for the scenery was shattered.
Also, a goof found in Salvation:
- John meets Meg, apparently as arranged, at midnight
- Sam and Dean are somehow simultaneously waiting for a demon attack at 9:45 PM that same night.
Now maybe the timing in the episode was altered for drama. Still, what?

The sad, REAL American dichotomyJust a little FYI for anyone who cares, not sure if its been mentioned: but there's going to be an anime based off of Supernatural coming out.
(V)(;,,;)(V)yeah, I mentioned it on the last page. It's coming out in japanese, so it may take a while to get here.
Usually I don't like gossip, but this is too funny to pass up. In february of this year, Sam's actor married Ruby's second actress. It seems all that demon-lover chemistry was real. Weird.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyJust finished season 5 and damn was that good!
Now of course they have to come up with a one season story arc. I have my own ideas about that. Since Lilith was the first demon, its reasonable to assume that she was in charge of Hell until Sam killed her, when lucifer took her place. Now that hes in a cage again, there would be a place to fill and the demons could fight for it.
And Crowley should be the Big Bad of season 6 because hes my all time favorite demon, we need to see more of him.
And more of Cas of course. Since the brothers should still have the seals on their ribs, he would still need a cell phone to find them. That guy is just so cool and funny.
You lost!Yeah Crowley... and maybe his angelic buddy?

Anyone else still bummed out about Anna?
no. during her original episodes, she became another example of how adding in sex ruins a lot, and I didn't mind seeing her go for good either way.
At least we got a I DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT REFERENCE out of Cas. that was the same episode, right?
The sad, REAL American dichotomy^^I am. I wish we had had one more episode of set up before she snapped and while I think Lisa and Dean make a good couple, Anna was still the best for him - just in how much she really understood his world and what he went through. (plus Julie Mc Niven was very cute)
I loved the angel food cake reference from Uriel.
Well everyone knows that Uriel is the funniest one in the garrison.
Huh. was... the prophet chuck god this whole time, or what? I'm so confused...
