General Visual Novel Appreciation Thread

Well, I just finished reading True Remembrance. That was just beautiful, I tell you.

Started Ef. First few minutes.

Finished first two chapters of Ef. Reallllllllllllly nice. I mean REALLLLLLLLLLLY NICE. Miyako ftw.

Who else here has played Animamundi Dark Alchemist? Who else thinks it should have an anime? I mean, ENZAI of all things has an anime adaptation.

EDIT: Also what is this I hear about Hiruma being in Ef?

Na, just similar names. It's Himura. So far, doesn't resemble him in the least (dunno if that's bad or good).

BTW I just watched the Ef anime. If anyone is wondering, I would recommend it for everyone to watch only after the VN. Other than the usual adaptation problems, it also feels like a collection of psychedelic Ef fanart edited into some weird 12 episode AMV.

It's great, its emotional, and ridiculously artsy, but best as supplimentary material for the VN.

You know the real reason the ef anime is inferior?

No Makoto Shinkai.

Playing through fifth route of Ef. The Reveal of Yuuko's choice of clothes. Now I want to punch Akira in the face.

Listening to her explanation now. Now I want to throw that guy into a lake of piranhas, drag him out, set him on fire, then douse it just before he dies, hammer nails through his body, etc etc.

Did it change at some point, or you are usually that slow with your favorite stuff?

Took me from October to May to finish Fate Stay Night.

Also, work and RL and stuff preventing me from playing games.

Besides, I only have the last chapter to finish.

FSN took me 10 days playing 6-8 hours per day to finish 100%. Granted, I had a walkthrough...

I played more than 70% of Clannad without a walkthrough...

FSN is fine without a walkthrough. You click on the bad option, in about five minutes you die, so you can click on the other option.

It's not like Clannad, where one bad option can make your whole route a bad end.

I was talking about FSN only. I couldn't stand dying over and over again so I went to a walkthrough right away.

I only used the walkthrough for Heaven's Feel, because seriously? I managed to get every bad end up to the 13th day inadvertently, and had to completely restart the route several times. God, that was annoying.

Seriously, though, I took me around two weeks (it was exams period), the only choice I had to force through was the one before the last battle in Fate. "Of course you have to open your innards to take out the one thing that has been keeping you alive until now, and give it to Saber, because it'll give her a super Noble Phantasm that will make her able to stand up to Gil. Oh, and don't worry about your safety, you'll surely be able to project it too."? Fuck that.
