Just finished a sub of The Rise of Darkrai.
The version I watched had Ash call Palkia a Son of a bitch.
So best movie by default I'd say.

One Strip! One Strip!Did he just call Arceus a bitch?
It's been 3000 years…No, Palkia.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.No, Palkia was called a son of a bitch. Arceus created Palkia, so it's its parent. So basically, Arceus indirectly got called a bitch.
It's been 3000 years…Is there a new episode of Sun and Moon this week? Nothing was mentioned yesterday.
One Strip! One Strip! There is a break. I think we're getting an one hour special next week.
yea, it features Litten so it might be when Ash finally catches it.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.So Ash will have four Pokémon at that point?
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Ash gets slow on catching when he only has a full party.
Wake me up at your own risk.At this point in time in every other series he usually only has 3 or 4 pokemon. The only two sagas he caught a lot of pokemon was in Kanto or BW. And in Kanto all his extra captures were either released or immediately sent to Oak's lab, which puts into perspective why Ash capturing a lot of pokemon turned out to be pointless.
Ash really only needs 6 pokemon a saga. Whenever he gets any more than that the pokemon either get barely any screentime or screwed over.
I'm pretty much a Pikachu + 6 Pokemon every region guy, because I want each generation to at most have a full team to represent. Since Pikachu always leaves for the next region, a five-man team gets left 1 short a full line-up.

They had Serena's VA narrate the 20th anniversary show where they aired old episodes in. Way back in 2007 during the 10th anniversary, they did the same thing with Misty's VA narrating the show that aired old episodes. This was back in 2007 when the DP series had only been airing for about 6 months.
It's kind of funny. 10 years ago they had Misty's VA do it, now 10 years later they had Serena's VA do it. Looks like Serena literally became the new Misty, lol.
And so, it's confirmed.
Old Stoutland, Litten's parental figure, is asleep... forever
I knew that was going to be the case when I saw a preview still no doubt symbolizing the rainbow bridge. Poor sweet Litten...but at least it has a new forever home with Ash.
Have you guys ever seen the "Goodbye, Baku" episode of Monster Rancher?
That's what this reminded me of.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Poor Litten T_T
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Well Tomioka wrote today's episode, no surprise it was good. He's been writing some of the best episodes of the anime for the last 20 years in all the different sagas. Really puts in perspective how good the pokemon anime could actually be consistently if they let him and the other better writers do what they want and not be shackled by advertising or business execs holding them back.
Maybe but Tomioka has had clear comfort zones throughout the anime, especially the series he has led (which tend to be the most formula driven) and I think it's the same for the other writers. This series is working so far because they are willing to be more persistent with new fresh ideas and write out of their usual comfort zones more often.
Matsui did the Ash and Pikachu episode this week too, and while it was overshadowed by the Litten one, I think it was also a nice breath of fresh air (Matsui seems to be doing a lot of the more offbeat episodes this series). They really want Ash and Pikachu's characters to stand out this time round.
The blend within the team so far is coming up with some good results (especially given how some of the plots sound on paper), I just hope they can keep it up.

I wonder if the anime is now going to alternate between slightly more serious and battle oriented sagas like DP and XY, to more light-hearted or comedic sagas like BW or SM.
It's probably not a coincidence we went from DP to BW, then XY to SM. I wouldn't mind so much if Ash himself wasn't regressed or treated like an idiot whenever they go the more comedic route. It's not as bad in SM as it was in BW, but of course Ash is far more goofy now than he was in XY.
There literally hasn't been any consistency with the animes tone since the OS to AG to DP era. Now it just magically changes each new gen/saga.
