She did say it would be obvious. It was so subtle I almost missed it in her first post with her new handle.

The Missus was hauling trash to finish prepping the apartment for our yearly inspection and stubbed her toe so hard she dislodged the toenail on one of her big toes. My poor wife. I had skipped taking out before bed because my joints were aching badly and I just wanted to lay down. I wound up taking the remaining trash bags out slipping on the muddy lawn and tweaking my back. It didn't hurt until I went up the steps. I took some Naproxen and my back popped making things better.

I got out my forceps and pulled out all my foot care gear cleaned up and left her to do the bit that hurt. Better she knows what is hurting and how much. Now she has to doctor her foot a few times a day until it starts to heal.

Rough start to the day.

Grumpy grumpy grumpy grumpy grumpy.

I fell down at the retail job. Slipped on the wet floor and down I went on the reconstructed ankle. It's weird when you torque the metal places. Weird and painful.

Two of the people that I work with are Judgy Mc Judgerson's about people who use food stamps. It must be lovely to never have been poor. Or to never have needed help. Or to never to have to worry about being judged by people who have no fucking right to judge. God they piss me off. (The people I work with, not the other people.)

The top shelf on the refrigerator door broke again, the light switch in the kitchen is going out, and the replacement lights we got for the outside of the garage need a special backing plate.

Sometimes being a grown up sucks.

Judging poor people for being poor is pretty shitty.

Hope everyone's various injuries get better soon. :/

Holy hell, I need to have a dialogue with the guy living in the room next to mine. He usually plays music loud with the bass system turned up to wall-rattling levels, which during the day is annoying but tolerable. However doing so from 9pm to 1130pm, on a week night when I have to get up at 6am the next day, and not answering my angry pounding on the door? That is intolerable.

He seems like a chill guy, so I'm just gonna politely ask him to dial it down from now on. However he keeps that shit from last night up I'm gonna bring it up to higher.

Oooh, ouch for Teuf and Lyredragon and the 'cat, and Sheesh, Mark, that's rude of him.

****

I just realized how strange my life would seem to someone who lives a 9-5-office-job, come home, eat, watch the tube, maybe play some video games, go to bed, and do it all again tomorrow life.

Two days ago, there was a straitjacket on my dining room/sewing table, (I was riveting on the straps — it still needs some work, but it was good enough for the photo shoot.). There's a duct-tape sewing dummy (half stuffed) on an old music stand in the corner of my living room. This afternoon, there was a kepi with a roll of duct tape in it on the table. Tonight there's a half-made tipi there. Last night I was sitting with a bunch of cops laughing and listening to their stories and chiming in when I had something to add, and drinking the best damn Irish whiskey I've ever tasted, smoking cigars and talking about making one of them a set of wooly chaps for him to wear for the cowboy shooting competitions he's started getting involved with. That devolved to innuendo-laden texting across the table. Then my cell phone rang at 8 this morning and it was him and he said "I'm sorry, I accidentally called you, I hope I didn't wake you" and I said, "No, I've already been up for two and a half hours." Then Katie pulled down one of the curtain rods trying to catch a fly (My fearless hunter!).

Tomorrow I'm going to boil up some spaghetti and string a necklace on it for a friend's five-year-old daughter's archeological dig. And I'll finish the tipi and the purple dress that's half put together and finish stuffing the dress form and start the jacket for the wedding dress that I'm waiting on the sari fabric for, and gee, I wonder what it's like to have a normal life?

A good guy died yesterday. A friend's dad. He was 89 and he had a good long life. A bit of his light went out when his wife died 5 years ago. I'm going to miss him. Fare well Donovan.

Tomorrow I am going to grade assignments and eat jjangmyeon and try to figure out what to do about this cat who has started peeing all over the place. (He's 16 years old, but still...)

Right now, though, I'm going to think joyful thoughts about those people I know that don't live on earth any more.

Condolences 'cat.

Maddy, sounds like a goodgood life to me. I've never been one to follow normal working hours and when i stopped worrying about it, I started really liking my life.

I'm so sorry, Cat.

I am currently in the position of having both normal and abnormal working hours. Right now, it's awful due to tendonitis problems and a glaring case of insomnia, but once tomorrow's done, I can catch up on sleep and stay off my bad ankle for two whole days and I'll probably be fine.

My abnormal hours involve pretend-practicing a viola, talking to imaginary cats, and trying to find movies that my director wants me to watch but can't remember the exact title of.

Look up 'Opus' by Michael Hollinger. It's pretty recent, the first run was in 2007.

Oh, but the talking to imaginary cats thing is just me. My character has cats and I'm trying to use improv in my rehearsals to round out Grace.

M and the guy in the room next to mine resolved things easily, so that's a plus. I figured things would work out if I said something politely to him, so there was no need to get higher ups involved or whatever.

Whoo, surgery Tues.

ugh. my back. . .my toe. Why do people not have consideration for tall persons? they never make kitchen counters high enough to work comfortably. there are days when I really think about the oversized stuff that snuffalupugus always had compared to everyone else and I think, yeah. I need that kind of stuff.

I know a few girls around 5'11. They don't seem to face many height-difficulties. Hell, one of them even wears high heels!

Have them work on a counter built more then a few feet too short for their height and then leaning down into a sink that is lower.
