They probably wanted to restrict some features for the pro version too.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayWe interrupt this lull for missile pony.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."So to keep you all updated I'm probably going to restart Alphastruck. I really did want to do it, I only stopped because I was dealing with depression that I've since overcome, and the blog only got deleted because I deleted my main Tumblr account when I felt like the hostility of the place was polluting my mind (if you don't understand this consider that Tumblr is a website where advocating genocide isn't that uncommon). Finding out that my original adventure got referenced in Card City Nights didn't help. Also, my girlfriend volunteered to help with the art this time and we're both really excited.
I'm sorry for being so indecisive about this whole thing. I've just been dealing with a lot and I hope you all can understand.

I wonder what's for dinner?Card City Nights?
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."I only found out about it yesterday. Ludosity's Card Battle Game involving several characters from their other games. Mia mentions "B-ball" more than once.

I wonder what's for dinner?I'm really sorry if the reference in CCN had a negative effect on you (that's how I interpreted your message). :( I wrote the script for CCN, and just wanted to do a shout-out. I didn't mean to put pressure on you.
I'm also glad to hear you're feeling better. Doing Alphastruck should be your decision alone, and it's your decision how to write and update it.
Oh, it wasn't negative at all! I did a little jump for joy when I saw it and proceeded to scour the rest of the LP for any other references. I really do want to do Alphastruck, and I stopped not because I wanted to but because I felt I had to. If anything it had a positive effect on me.
I see now that I worded it poorly. I meant that seeing the reference in CCN didn't help with my desire to return to the comic, not that it didn't help with my depression.

I wonder what's for dinner?I honestly was a little surprised when the original tumblorb went down. Glad to see you're still up for it, though!
And then there was silenceI decided to try my hand at a Turbo Ultimortal game (Asha 1 and Proxima kicked my ass countless times, and Iosa 2 a bunch), but I encountered slowdowns facing Asha 2. He actually seemed easier than Asha 1 (though it may be because of the restoration unit). I guess the slowdowns are due to the electricity in the room.
Still hasn't let me finish the level though; the farthest I went, I reached the two security doors with the reflector with only two not-seconds to spare, too little to hope cracking them both.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."I'm the colleague Medinoc refers to in this post and I'm having a lot of fun with Iji.
I'm currently trying to make Immortal and Nanomaster in the same game while unlocking all posters and ribbons (thus "unlocking" everything that can be unlocked in a single game). This idea started while discussing with Medinoc about many times you would need to complete the game to unlock all that needs to be unlocked to get the Null Driver. The theoretical answer I came up with was 2 (once in Extreme, doing Nanomaster and Immortal, then once in Ultimortal). I'm trying it in Normal for now, but the end goal is doing it on a fresh install in Extreme.
So far, I'm in Sector 7, with a little over 70 cracks and less than 30 damage (I'll edit this post later to put in exact numbers). I played as a pacifist until Sector 3 (to take advantage of the truce), but switched to killer in Sector 4 (exceeding 25 kills there). I plan to take most supercharges (I only took the one in Sector 7 when I played to take them all; I'll probably take #8 and #9, but #10 will depend on how much damage I've taken). I probably won't bother in the higher difficulties.
Are you sure it's actually possible to unlock all the posters on Extreme?
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayLet's see:
- Poster 1 requires Strength 2
- Poster 2 requirements vary, but often Tasen 3 or Strength 4
- Poster 3 requires Strength 4
- Poster 4 probably requires Tasen 6
- Poster 5 is more problematic, it might require the Nuke (Tasen 10, Crack 9, that's 17 points. Which means at least two supercharges but gives you another one).
- Ah, Poster 6 sounds impossible: Requires 27 points (Velocithor V2-10), and the most you could have with all supercharges would be 24.
- Poster 7 only requires the Nuke and Hyper Pulse, and one can probably reboot between them.
- Poster 8 requires only a Nuke jump,
- Poster 9 requires lots of Health and Tasen 10,
- Poster X requires only a Nuke jump.

Wouldn't it be 23? I don't think you can get the sector 1 charge on Extreme.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play3 points should be enough to reach Strengh 4. However, that makes a reboot necessary to get the Sector 2 supercharge.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."So I wanted to say that I had no idea that the mspafa mod thing existed until I poked through this thread to read all the ulti q&a.
Beefed up Iosa is fun and all the new weapons are crazy. I had the scrambler turned on so I almost thought it was just a joke at first. There's almost too many weapons, its hard to decide what to mess around with.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSounds like I need a change of plans. Let's get over the unlockables: 1) Sector Maps 2) Single Sector play 3) Sound test 4) Play Hero 3D 5) Sudden Death Sectors 6) Alternate outfit 7) Ultimortal difficulty 8) Enemy information 9) Weapon information 10) Turbo Mode 11) Enter Sector Z 12) Scrambler 13) Ribbons 14) Posters 15) Conquer Sudden Death Sectors 16) Hidden Skills
1-9, 13 and 16 can all be combined in a single Extreme Immortal Nanomaster game. Only poster #6 cannot be unlocked during that run, but I'll have to come back to Sector 6 anyway to get the Scrambler (this cannot be done in Sudden Death, because Yukabacera is such a good hacker he hacked the very game he appears in to retain his full health in that mode). Any other poster or skill I miss during the first game can be unlocked in Sudden Death, except poster #3. A game in Ultimortal will unlock the Turbo mode, then I can enter Sector Z and go for the Null driver.
You guys know more about planning runs in this game than I do. o_o
Random thought: Iji would make a viable fighting game character. Her nanogun has enough weapon modes for a full set of combos.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...If Phoenix Wright and Arthur can be fighting game characters, I think anyone can.
Arthur has 2 hp and can't change directions mid jump for crying out loud.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayWould she have a move that lets her run someone over with a speeder bike?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat ought to be some sort of hard-to-execute finisher move.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Which we've even been doing since the start of this thread. (The Extreme Pacifist run)
That was actually almost a thing. There was a game which didn't get very far (had some art assets and music, as well as general planning, last I checked) called Indie Brawl, and I think Iji was the most developed character on the roster. I actually still have her stage music on my computer, since I thought it sounded nice.
Iji was in a fighting game. Indie brawl, to be specific. Sadly, the game wasn't finished, and only had a couple of characters, and no functional AI or story mode. Among the finished ones were [1], Trilby, Dwarf, and Naija, among others.
EDIT:
You have the music? Anyway you could send it my way? The link in the Indie Brawl article is dead.

Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.I would also like a copy, if you don't mind. I'm curious to hear what it sounds like.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...
Most likely I coded the scrambler as quickly and simply as possible, and forgot that Asha had a three-page dialogue somewhere (hence the one-page dialogues are random and the two-page ones are hardcoded to always be the same). You can see part of the code for the scrambler at the bottom of the text dump: http://www.remar.se/daniel/iji_textdump.txt
The parts that were unimportant for the text dump, like how it extracts and replaces the words, was omitted.
GM does have everything a simple language would have, except some odd missing things like pointers and type declaration. The former possibly because it's interpreted rather than compiled, and the latter for ease of use (but how GM assigns type can be confusing unless you read the documentation - so much for ease of use).
