Will it be a closed or open setup? Any theme, or what?

This game can pretty much be done however you'd like. For starters, I'll be hosting a standard-themed game (with tropes involved). Don't know what is meant by "closed or open setup" though.

EDIT: Or maybe if you're looking for it, I'll start (and signups would be closed) once I have enough playing this game. I'll be sending roles to everyone interested via the private messaging system, and each round would be a literal day, to make it easier for a forum like this.

I hope those are the right terms. I've certainly seen someone use something similar before but it was a long time ago, so perhaps I misremembered, they're not standard terms, or both. By open setup I meant that everyone would know what roles existed, whereas in a closed setup they wouldn't.

And here is the story:

It was a quiet little town that didn't really notice there was a smuggling operation. But then the town noticed that their mayor has been murdered for trying to stop their firearms trade. The villagers soon began to suspect each other, and are determined not to stop until the smugglers were killed.

Yeah, this is not much of a story, but...
