I thought it was pretty scary as a kid, but nowadays? I laugh at most of the stuff I used to find scary. I wonder what that says about me.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I was never scared by anything in this show, at all, as a kid.
I was pretty damn desensitized.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Ditto
Looking back at it though, I'm wondering how some of the stuff didn't disturb me back then.
Then again, my english wasn't great back then.
I don't think this show scared me. I was more scared of Randall from Monsters Inc than anything on Courage.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Really? I never found him scary at all and thought he was cool when I was younger.
Admittedly I never really liked the original Monsters Inc, Monsters University I liked more but those are just my weird tastes.
What? No discussion of the fact that Dilworth has made a brand new, CG Courage cartoon in the past year and is hoping for a new series?
There's an official clip here: http://vimeo.com/92096186
I used to be a 2d animation purist, but I think this particular CG is gorgeous, and captures the feel of Courage perfectly. I have to admit there are lots of new doors 3-d would open up for uncanny horror, which was already used to great effect throughout the original show.
No word yet on how likely a new series really is or not.
bogleech.com for my writing, comics and cartoons. It got its own topic first?
Bumping this because Courage is returning in glorious 2D in a crossover with Scooby-Doo. Two franchises ripe for the crossovering, if you ask me.
We are already discussing this in the Scooby-Doo thread, but it won't hurt reviving the thread for this absolute classic of a series.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Here's the video embedded.
I can already see not fans saying Courage is the Scrappy replacement (har har)
New theme music also a boxThea White has unfortunately died at age 81.
And this happened not that long after voicing Muriel one last time for that Scooby-Doo crossover.
She's the same age as my Nana. And Thea was a wonderful voice actor. I hope they add an "in memory of" dedication to the Scooby/Courage crossover.
see my completed Tangled (Varian) fanfic collection! https://archiveofourown.org/works/24467056/chapters/59049532If I remember Eustace's previous voice actors also died. I wonder who they hired for his third one. But sad for Muriel's who really brought such warmth to her character.
Jeff Bergman, who voiced him in commercials and stuff, does him in the Scooby-Doo crossover.
In that weird CGI special he was voiced by Wallace Shawn.

Goddamn! Really?
This is DEFINITELY not my week as by some fucked up coincidence my grandmother also passed a day prior to the voice actress.
Doesn’t help that the the relationship between Muriel and Courage is reminiscent of my own with my grandmother when I was just a kid helping her in the kitchen and with her flowers.

Never mind this comment. I accidentally posted twice.

I can't remember: did Muriel's voice actress record for this movie before she died, or is this a new VA?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. This is still Thea White. She passed away very recently on July 30, while the movie no doubt finished recording months prior.

I used to watch Courage when I was kid. My first episode was "The Hunchback of Nowhere".
I know this is a late response, but anyways the Scooby-Doo crossover movie came out a week ago. I watched it online, and while I thought it was okay for what it was trying to do as a crossover, I can't help but think it would've turned out better if John R. Dilworth himself wrote the script.

Loved this show when I was younger, it was unnerving to watch at times but it was not too scary to me (Although I would cringe whenever I saw people get eaten by a monster which happened a lot of I remember correctly).
