Well, he sorta' just came off as really gullible in the Genesis titles (yeah Eggman is kinda Obviously Evil, but he looked a lot more jovial than he is now) - it wasn't until they needed him for other games and apparently decided that to make him show up they needed to invoke Idiot Ball on him so much that it orbits his cranium. Which sadly has integrated into his Boom counterpart to the point of blatant Flanderization.

Knuckles had a perfectly good reason for believing Eggman the first time they met. He said that a blue hedgehog was coming to the island to steal the Master Emerald. Proof? Sonic already had the other seven emeralds, so it makes perfect sense for Knuckles to think he was an emerald thief. Unfortunately this aspect of his character got flanderized and he keeps falling for obvious crap. And the less said about Sonic Boom's Knuckles the better.

@8319 RCS's Sonic sounds a bit like a douchey jock because when that's sort of his characterization in the Pontac-Graff games is (which is also in line with Sonic's original characterization).

So should I keep mashing F5 all weekend, or can they still only re-upload the video on a Monday?

I dunno' about Sonic's characterization in the past being quite like the douchey-jock thing in Colors. I mean, if you look at Fleetway Comics where Sonic was a straight-up dickwad, then maybe. Sonic seemed to just come off as someone who was a lot more brash and assertive, almost humorously stoic if bumbling Straight Man at points - like Insomniac's Spyro I like to think. The whole attitude thing and junk was kinda subtle honestly, which got addressed to different degrees in other media like Jaleel's voice or such. Later characterization softened him considerably in the games after, and then RCS came along and they tried to tread back in to his whole attitude thing which ended up more on the obnoxious end for my liking (and I admittedly don't like their writing very much, even if it's not as bad as the earlier titles). Like I said, they improved over time. But I wouldn't say it was quite back to the roots or such, it felt more akin to just mocking the whole "attitude" or "cool" thing of the decade. I mean, that's not necessarily bad, but I would like to be endeared by my main character please.

...though I admit I suppose it's more of a YMMV sorta' thing. I've seen Broken Base on Retro about it as well.

I never quite realized how many Retsupurae fans were also huge Sonic fans.

To be honest I don't know if that'd be as surprising as someone being, say, a Retsupurae & Pew Die Pie fan or something like that. Time at Sonic Retro has shown me that while you may love and support the blue guy, he is one hell of an Acceptable Target.

I suppose it also just comes with the territory, as Sonic is pretty much a gaming icon regardless of the quality of certain entries in the series, thus would be well-known among gamers in general, and obviously the majority of Retsupurae's audience would consist of gamers, so the overlap isn't exactly unlikely.

Yes, mashing F5 paid off! [lol] I think I read in the comments that the other version of the video had them checking GameFAQs to learn of the three fountains in the first place. I can't say that's more outrageous than the number of loading screens it took for the archaeologist to ask for help.

Huh. You'd think for a computer-savvy guy, Slowbeef would recognize the default T-pose most 3D models have.

Also did the two ever discover Omega's infinite hover glitch?

Nope, and I don't expect them to in this stage either.

Since they rushed to the desert stage ASAP, I'll note it here that if you sneak into the New City part of Soleanna via a glitch at this point, it's more than a little messed-up. Also includes a completely-unused mission, which would probably be more exciting if the missions in this game weren't pants. Here it is in all its glory:

I think it usually has cars? They're just not usually driving into the buildings, then honking at said buildings for having the audacity of getting in their way.

Also of note are how some NP Cs will copy what the last NPC you spoke to said (that is, the last one that wasn't another copycat). So, you can pull off that silly thing at the end of the video there, and turn an old man into a pigeon.

The hub world of Sonic 06 has three distinct areas. The forest, which has trees; the most often seen part of Soleanna with the rustic bridges and the bells you have to ring and the waterways that Tails and Rouge always fall into; and another part of Soleanna that looks like a modern city and does indeed have cars driving around. There is a disconnect between these last two areas as one is a modern day metropolis and the other looks like a town that was built hundreds of years ago, which it probably was.

Part 46 is up. They've "completed" the game and have about 2-4 parts left to upload, depending on how they choose to upload it.

Its funny how every time you will have a youtube commenter saying that they could have played the game better.

I mean c'mon. Is it worth it?

As someone who's completed the entirety of Sonic 06... yeah, that's accurate. That's really accurate.

The Crisis City level in Generations gave me war flashbacks.

He finally gets to hear "All Hail Shadow". And it is glorious.

So even Slowbeef has begun to descend into madness and trauma from this game. Jesus, that might be proof enough that this is worst than Boom. As bad as Boom is, I haven't heard it straight-up damaging your soul like 06 tends to do.

And he seems relieved the Last Episode won't be as long. You poor naive fool.

He cannot believe the lyrics. "Suffer long and it will set you free?!" "Obliterating anything that's not your friend?!"

At least Slowbeef knew about the Last ep beforehand, but Diabetus was left in thedark. I want a showstopper reaction to Sonic getting fucking killed.

What's even weirder is that the song was originally the "Pure Hero" credits theme for Shadow the Hedgehog, and yet it still has lyrics like that.
