So I've heard (by reading its page here). The premise doesn't really seem too interesting to me, though.

It's generally considered to be pretty terrible, and is constantly mocked. Think along the lines of Ctrl + Alt + Del.

I always thought people really liked Ctrl Alt Del (aside from the more blatantly fanboyish strips) up until Cerebus Syndrome hit it.

Eh. The thing about CAD is that people ripped on it both for Only Six Faces and the needless drama combined with the author's arrogant speakings on said drama subjects.

And, if the review by TV Trash and The Cartoon Hero is anything to go by, the Animated Adaptation apparently is terrible.

Nah, CAD was always bashed before the aforementioned arc. It was just bashed for all sorts of things. After the arc, the only thing people generally talk about is the miscarriage.

How does something so popularly disliked become so well-known, especially in a medium in which it's hard to get noticed, then?

Because of the way Buckley handled it (i.e. unbelievably arrogant and a know-it-all attitude about the subject in his rant for the strip)

I'm curious now about this rant. Heard of it, but don't actually know its contents.

Look for it in Cyanide & Happiness. It was posted word-for-word in the relevant strip.

This was pretty much every CAD strip to save you the trouble

I'll be honest, 'beef & 'betus look completely different from how I'd pictured them to look.

Aside from that...

This was horrifying and I wish I could erase this idiot from my memories. His banshee-like shrieking shall forever haunt my nightmares and I cannot live with that.

Slowbeef showed a picture of himself with a Jonathan from Policenauts cosplayer at the end of his Policenauts LP, so his appearance didn't come as a surprise, but I'm surprised Diabetus showed his face, when he's always seemed pretty private.
