This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I am sorry if it caused any problem. Even if you unallow me to edit, I guess the wiki is funny enough to read. Please...take...care...of the Suburgatory...character sheet...and of...Raising Hop.. arghl.
OK, that was funny, I'll grant you that.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. Why, thank you, sir/ms. If it didn't have a function, I could do this jokes with links about an hour a day without being near bored on this very page. However I won't do it so much, because it is SeriousBuisness. Unless...of course, this is my evil, EVIL plan. I knew this ALL ALONG, and now, I can TAKE OVER your Edit banned page ! Did you really think I was stupid enough to add examples accidentally on an anime fanspeak page ?! [[You Can'tThwartStageOne I am destined to win, and you can't do anything !]] I will unleash ultimate evil on this page by annoying everyone, because I am the world's most renown troll ! Muahaha
PS : Sorry for the missed link, I put an apostrophy in it. I should take my meds now.
You can edit your posts by clicking the pen above your post. That way, you can avoid double-posting.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.Suspension lifted. Have a nice day.
"Yup. That tasted purple."@ lu127
Yes, I do understand now and I'm sorry again for causing so much trouble.
My apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I've been busy with school.
I still feel awful for everything that's happened. Trust me, the last thing I would ever do is knowingly break the rules.
Should you decide to lift my suspension, and you do NOT have to, I promise I will never delete another picture for any reason ever again.
Here's still hoping for a fresh start,
Clam15
>@Justin: If you don't bring the staff in, it just turns into a endurance match for who can be the most stubborn. That's no way to get good work done.
It wasn't really good work to begin with, honestly.
Alright, clam15. Your editing privileges are restored. Happy troping.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSo what's the word on my account? (back from page 19).
The reason I'm posting should be obvious. But I would like to know why. And why was I not warned via private message that I was going in the wrong direction with my editing? I know you don't have to do that but striking me down at the first occasion is harsh, it's not like I would've ignored you.

@Ashoka: Well, considering that your suspension comes from ignoring a direct warning on a page, it seems that textual warnings are ineffective on you. Generally though, suspensions are meant as warnings. They're a sign that we need you do come talk to us.
Your suspension is from adding examples to Dandere in direct violation of the posted warning not to.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI dealt with the Dandere trope several months ago, I have totally forgotten about that. In any case, I have not been up to such things in my recent history, or so I like to believe, so consider your warning received, understood and agreed to. In other words, I would like the editing privilige back.

Your recent edits seem good. Just keep an eye out for warnings on pages from here on out.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickIt's been a month. Haven't heard anything before, during, or since (except one post that suggests the silence might be an oversight, which is implausible). My posts, hollers, and emails have been ignored. :(

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. As a tip: Make sure before you make an edit that you check the top of the page for anything with a %% in front of it; that's a hidden comment that usually indicates something that is not to be done on the page. They can also show up inside the text on the page as well, although that doesn't happen as often.

Hi! I've been... uh... suspended for some reason.
Sorry to bother you folks.
As I was saying, I've been suspended from editing. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, of course. The fact is, I can't browse the "ask the tropers" page, where most of edit bans are demanded. Given the lack of PMs of any sort, I just want to know what my mistake was (you know, the whole "learn from your mistakes" and stuff), and if I can be able to edit once again within a few days, as I've had a good idea for restoring the lost Nightmare Fuel pages without the natter, just as explained in my query in the ATT page today.
I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!Alex, these constant conversations we have with you in Ask The Tropers are getting tedious. You insist on questioning and nitpicking every aspect of wiki policy, from bans on Darth Wiki links, to Natter, to YMMV, etc., and it's just driving us up the wall. I get the impression that you are somehow incapable of grasping nuance, or have a mental condition that forces you to obsess over this stuff.
Then you keep getting your own natter deleted from wiki articles, like DarthWiki.Ruined FOREVER, and misusing problematic potholes like Unfortunate Implications.
At this point I'm really not sure that this wiki is a match for whatever it is that you want to do with it. I want to give you a opportunity to recognize why we're taking this step with you, but I'm very disinclined to let you resume editing.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yowza. So that was the problem. Well, alrighty then. What you just said reminded me of something about my ATT behavior, but, in order to avoid topic derailment, I'm going to ask you with a PM instead. (I was about to ask here, but changed my mind as soon as I realised the mistake I was going to make).
I don't really need to edit, given that - as far as I can tell myself, at least - I've been lurking rather than editing lately; however, you know, the whole thing about suddenly wanting what you just lost despite not caring about it before losing it... yeah, just knowing to be able to edit would be nice enough.
About the "Unfortunate Implications" thing, I think you refer to when I last used it - in the YMMV tab for Kingdom Hearts 3D. What I meant there was, simply put, the term as a synonym to "accidentally implied", as in, "implied by accident". It's not like I should bear the game's devs any kind of ill will, so to speak. This kind of lack of malice while editing is what puzzled me in the first place.
I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!I got a question. When I tried to edit the Dm C page, someone keeps editing it and when I explained why the edits should be on there, the person on there suspended my account. I'm not doing anything wrong, so why am I getting suspended for editing on the YMMV page and the other person doesn't have to explain why s/he doesn't have to explain about the edits where it's deleting everything on the YMMV page about the fan reaction. The suspension won't let me log out either. And I get no warning about getting suspended.
The suspension is your warning. It means there is some problem with your editing that we have to discuss.
You were suspended for edit warring on the YMMV page of DmC. That page was filled with bile, hate-rant and natter, and when other editors removed it, you saw fit to put it back. Whether you are correct or not doesn 't matter. Edit warring is against wiki rules and suspension worthy.
This wiki is not here to bash works. We are a wiki written by fans for other fans. The fact that it's a YMMV section does not mean it can read like an attack on the developers and the game.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI understand the edit warring now (since now I know it doesn't matter if it's YMMV or not). If that's the case, I won't engage in edit warring again.
That's good to hear. It would be good if the page doesn't turn into a bilefest again. Suspension lifted.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerHi there! Sorry for dropping in and annoy you folks once more, but I've just come back home from a Krav Maga lesson and wanted to check my status.
I haven't heard anything since Fighteer pointed out "we're taking this step with you" (see his post above). I'd PM him personally, but I simply didn't want to bug him again. The question is, what have you decided (provided you've made any choice at all) to do with my suspension?
Also, by the way, is "suspension" a synonym for "ban" or there's some kind of difference between the two?

I know. I just watched the context in the historic. It was among the first lines. It was unexcusable to be so absent-minded, but I just began editing recently, and I guess I did not read carefully enough, but it was not willing vandalism. I will be much more careful if I am allowed to edit again.
